Rebuilding the Squad

Watching the match today it sank in that much of this team will be here next season, 5 or 6 first team players are out of contract at the end of the season.. so we'll need 3x fullbacks, goalie and 2 midfielders straight away before we even consider reinforcing the defence and bolstering the attack.

Of the players we have on loan I dont think we'll see either Denayer, Roberts, Nasri or Bony play for City in a competative match again.

I also dont think we'll promote anyone into the team from the EDS, maybe Garcia but I cant see us trusting the young defenders and its a year too early for Brahim.

Its a mammoth task ahead of Pep, we should be buying a couple of players now as I cannot possibly see us buying 6-7 quality players in the summer.

What are peoples thoughts on how the club will rebuild the squad?

Well hes not getting a game for Celtic so if he cant hold down a spot for them how can we expect him to be good enough to get in our squad?

We missed a trick getting fullbacks in for the last 2 years. I think Managla would've done ok in a back 3 from him, Vinny, Stones & Otamendi.

We got Gundogon in but unfortunetly he got injured, got Gabriel to come, but tbh we needed Hart this season as a season to adjust to Pep's plans. Hart win you points, Bravo isn't built for this league and is reckless - he gives points away.

We've got the wingers but we need full backs, 2 mids and another striker imo.

Completely agree with you about Hart, he's not the keeper he once was and it seems that teams we're targeting his weak left side moreso but he is more reliable than Bravo in my opinion.

The worrying thing is I cannot think of any fullbacks who are available that are at the level we need (FB in their prime) maybe bellerin and rose .. its such a hard position to buy for

Stones was in and out at Everton last season but we still spent 50m on him.

Roberts would benefit from a year on loan in the Premier League next season. I think Zinchenko and Mooy could be good squad players though.
