Dunne alleged that Garry Cook helped usher him out of the door. You could argue that the defence fell apart after that and started conceding 3 goals at Home to Burnley or Away at Bolton. I couldn't believe he was considered surplus to requirements by many yet went on to have a classic season for Villa. Hughes was obviously Manager at the time but the Dunne exit at City wasn't entirely Hughes' making. There's more too it.
