Record against the top clubs this season?

Home form has been the worse since 2008, the stadium has felt flat for most home games. I'm not sure if the players feed off the crowd or the crowd off the players but it's been a strange home season all round. On wards and upwards, I for one is looking forward to it already

Lamentable pathetic pitiful ridiculous contemptuous, unacceptable. Take yer pick

Is this a description of how Crappenberg stuffed us v Haringey. The most outrageous penalty decision of the season allowed Spuds back into a game that they went of to win. 1-0 to the good at The Lane and a blind lino decides to go looking for his flag on 44 mins, cue an abject surrender.

It wasn't only the players we can point the finger at for not beating top four teams.

Once is unfortunate, twice is a mistake, three times is? What is 9 times ?

As I've said in a previous post it's prob been the worse for atmoshpere for a season since we moved , which is strange cos we had one of the best atmospheres in the first home game against Chelsea , but since then well below average . Many games you might as well be sat on the sofa at home with the sound on mute , we must do better next season both on and off the pitch

The answer is multi-faceted but will more than likely be:

Disappointing (From Pellegrini's perspective)
Unacceptable (From Sheik Mansour's perspective)
Atrocious (From the fan perspective)
What the fuck have I let myself in for? (From Pep's perspective)
Pathetic considering how much money they've spent (From the media perspective)
Ha ha ha (From Roberto Mancini's perspective)

Off on a bit of a tangent here but 16 clean sheets so far this season. Is Joe in contention for golden glove again or has somebody done better than that?

I checked a couple of games ago and he was level with Cech and deGea at the time. Can't recall if that was before or after Southampton, but I doubt he's in the running now

For me its not always about the games against the top teams. Yes we've been crap this year but many of those games turn on one moment of brilliance or, in many of our games this year defensive ineptness or poor officiating. I get more concerned about dropping so many points against teams who finish up getting relegated. I thought we would have a wake up call last year when we lost the league by 9 points and dropped exactly that number of points against teams that finished in the bottom 3. They have to realise that wrapping up the 3 points on a wet Sunday in November at Burnley is just or more important than the big games which can always go either way.

15 points (wins against Stoke, Southampton at home and Chelsea h+a, draws at United and West Ham and home to Arsenal) out of a possible 45 points against the other top half teams this season.
P18 W4 D3 L11 F25 A32 GD-7

Record against decent teams in the CL this season (Juve, Paris and Madrid)
P6 W1 D2 L3 F5 A7 GD-2

Good teams have better players, tactics, work ethic and fitness than other teams. That's what sees them win more games than worse teams. We have good players but don't have the tactics, work ethic or fitness to beat these other good teams. We haven't lost a single game and have only conceded 8 goals against the bottom half teams in the Prem and won 6 out of 6 against the lesser sides we played in the CL this season. We also didn't face anyone in the top half of the Prem in our FL Cup run and got to the final, losing the one tough game we had in that run away at Everton and then we drew in the final against Liverpool winning on pens (similar in the FA Cup run too, drawn against two poor teams who we smashed before throwing the game at Chelsea).

We are the epitome of flat track bullies.

Our record against bottom half teams is W15 D4 L0 and we have scored 45 times and lost 8. Beat Swansea next week and it will be our most succesful and consistent season against bottom-half teams in our PL history.

The problem has been the dross against the top teams. Simple.
