Ref Watch

Yes agree. Both pens were very harsh and should have shown a bit more common sense.
Thought he was strong and stood up to the Bayern players constant moaning and pressure.
If a ref “shows common sense” rather than giving them as per UEFA’s guidelines then they would get any more matches.

It’s the law and uefa’s interpretation of it that’s bollocks. Not the poor **** that has to implement that interpretation.

Well it has. IFAB laws say a player that’s sent off “must leave the vicinity of the pitch”, coaches must “leave the technical area”, they’re two different things.

Wenger was sent off in 2009:

I don’t remember the Pearce one to be honest but he left us in 2007 so it’s either always been the case (and that decision for him to not go in the stands was wrong - which is likely seeing as he’s thick as pig shit) - or that’s it’s been the case for at least 14-15 years, in which case the other poster should have probably noticed that managers don’t have to go to the dressing room in the intervening period.

So erm yeah, I’m quite surprised the fact he’s confused about TT not going into the dressing room.
Ahh but, Pearce was player/manager at the time of his sending off so is that one foot in the dressing room and the other further up in the stands? ;-)

Thought he was good last night, although booking Ederson without (I didnt see anyway) a warning was harsh.

Both penalties probably were in the letter of the law, which we all know is bollocks. Having said that I was sure I read somewhere if a ball deflects off another body part ie Akanji's foot onto the arm it wasnt handball but I could be making that up
No, that has been one explanation as to why a pen wasn't given. Can't remember the details but it rings a bell or two!

If he gets a first half one for the same thing on Saturday he'll have a hat-trick of yellows never to be repeated.

I had flashbacks of this penalty:

I am probably on that video - fucking shocking decision and one clearly made from bias towards Liverpool / against CITY - that fucker couldn't get his hand up quick enough to point to the spot - he looked relieved to have the opportunity

Thing is - that could in todays world be considered to be a penalty (especially given the 2 last night) - but back then absolutely no chance - fucking cheat.

Cannot remember his name - but he is the same twat that was giggling like a schoolkid on the touchline with the GPC when Owen scored the late winner in the 4-3
