Partey had no intention of playing the ball he put his leg between Kev, who was trying to kick the ball Partey’s actions tripped him up, this was as clear a penalty as you would wish to see and Oliver gave a FK against Kev utter nonsense

Exactly, his intention may have been to shield it but like a mis-timed tackle he was a fraction late & that’s why it’s a clear & obvious penalty. The laws should be as simple as applied in the playground, common sense as his action impeded KDB striking the ball.

I would have liked it to have been a penalty as much as anyone, but the laws were interpreted correctly, first by Oliver, and then by VAR. As bizarre as it may look, and as much as many may not like it, it was not a penalty, but a foul on Partey. Incidentally it was the same VAR team that overruled the on field offside decision for Stone's goal, when at 1st glance nobody would have disagreed with the initial offside. So it’s fair to say, that they do have some modicum of knowledge of the laws of the game.

So the alleged rapist’s foot going nowhere near the ball and landing on de Bruyne’s standing foot - which you’ll note happens first - means nothing?

You lot stick together like shit to a blanket. You really do not help yourselves at all.

That one eyed, aggressive, bald, loon on Arsenal TV said it was definitely a penalty, i haven’t seen the incident yet, but if he says it was and it was against them, then without doubt it was.

I give up. I bow to your greater knowledge of the laws of the game & the interpretations. My dad always said to never argue with stupid as they are always right. As such I now totally agree with your view

Parents eh?

My Dad told me that the adult thing to do is to admit your wrong if all the evidence suggests so and that it'd be stupid not to...

I honestly think Oliver got that call right. Kev actually kicked Partey. I think a few on here need to remove their blinkers. The only thing he got seriously wrong was not giving Partey a 2nd yellow.

Been on a few Arsenal forums and they are all saying he favoured City
Stay off the Arsenal foums, they're affecting your ability to reason.

In hindsight Arse supporters are saying Oliver favoured us but I’ve just read the match thread on Arse Mania and they are clearly grateful for the decisions going their way.

Make of that what you will

At the game I thought 100% pen wtf is going on, I’m actually on tv behind Pep going mental! watched the full game today and looked at it several times & thought pen (forget lotg it was just my opinion) then I found myself talking myself out of it, based on the theory of what if the players involved where in the corner of the pitch, and Partey was doing the old time wasting shielding the ball thing, then Kev kicks through him ? Then I realised if this was in our box it would of definitely been given

to yourself and @richardtheref

that is shielding the ball, are you saying what partey did was the same

Whats the rule about planting 6 studs into someones ankle in the box…??
fuck me i haven't seen that picture before, however the expert refs on here will be on telling us ,not a foul , i don't think there is anything worse than people who argue that black is white, @richardtheref , you've seen the picture, seen what 99% of posters on here have seen now

I thought it was a nailed on penalty at the game and still think it should have been a penalty. I am an ex ref but the laws of the game have changed in the 17 years since I last refereed and it's clear I no longer understand them like I used to.

Looking at that picture now I think I see why Olivar gave the free kick to Arsenal as he will see DeBruynes left leg make contact with the Arsenal players leg. Line of least resistance decision and an 'easy' get out for him imho.

At 0-0, the KDB penalty shout was a potential game changer. If OliVAR, or VAR gives us that penalty so early in the game and we score it, then it's pretty much over as a contest, because at that point there is only one winner.

The clincher for me is that OliVAR 100% gives that as penalty against us at the other end, and nobody would have batted an eyelid.
