Ref Watch

Well we all saw it last night with our very own eyes.

It was laid out in front of us like a platter.

Good challenges by Villa were blown up as fouls.

Liverpool fouls were waved away play carry on.

Pulling Villa back when there was clear advantage.

Getting in the way when Villa were breaking.

It was appalling bias.
It was blatant cheating poorly dressed up as incompetence.

Moss made it TOO obvious.

I'm agreeing with you. @eastmanc seemed to be saying it was just poor fitness rather than blatant product management.

It's amazing how McTominay (last season when the Rags were getting shoehorned for 2nd place) and Fabinho (this season as the Dippers fight for the title) have been reffed in exactly the same way by different officials throughout 2 seasons.
Coincidence?
Bollocks this as been the corrupt fuckers weak spot in their system, because we can all see this.
Both seem to be able to constantly foul without a booking until the 79th minute +
They think the rest of us fans are stupid and they can just mug us off.
Bent officiating is blatant in the Premier league towards the cash cows of their product.
This isn't a conspiracy theory

2012/13 The Rags were allowed to foul until first yellow after 60th minute, normally then he’s subbed. Got the first red after they’d won the league & it was a poor decision.

That was the stat padding evens itself up example. It’s so blatant & they’ve carried it on.

Stat padding has been going on for years.

I'd like to see the data on it in terms of the issue of cards and when they were issued. Also how that affected the outcome of the game (if/when the opposing team scored after the card(s) were issued, etc.). I think that would make VERY interesting reading.

No intervention from the 4th official on a couple of incidents which we have seen in the past.

Also, nothing will be done as no one in the media will continue with the calls for an investigation. People like Henry Winter will now forget about it aafter making a subtle comment. Its like he is trying to prove that Pep is wrong and that journos do speak out. Yes, speak out for 10s then file away.

He's getting called out all over the place this morning.
Maybe he is getting called out but as far as the PL is concerned it's job done. A possible slip up by the wall pushers could have meant us winning at West Ham when they aren't playing thus removing any last day tension. Moss is retiring so it doesn't matter as nobody will really question it any further and it will all be dealt with by a shrug of the shoulder. If we win tonight and Sunday then we are six clear meaning they have to beat Southampton to then have a chink of last day drama. Watch out for plenty of contentious decisions in our next games and I fully expect that in one of them we will be down to 10 at a time when the game is still in the balance. We will then have the card rescinded after the game as it was a mistake but the damage will have been done. It's so blatant and obvious it's frightening and it will take a brave journalist to spill the beans.

Yes agree that poor fitness doesn’t help if he’s stumbling around and getting under players feet but it doesn’t contribute to the majority of decisions made during the game.

Corruption, Cash Cows, Spineless officials, Media, what ever the reasons it has been clear to us for years that they are officiated with a completely different set of rules to us, and at least fans of other teams are seeing it now also.

Are Riley and Co under orders to keep the cash cow teams challenging. it certainly looks that way. Dippers get perfect appointments with refs and notice they complained about Tierney after the Spurs game mid December and he has not officiated them since. Riley doing what Dippers want him to do. Think last time we complained about a ref we had him again 2 games later.
The lack of cards they receive game after game can not be just poor officiating by so many refs. No bookings last night was laughable and how many reds do they avoid, either by getting away with bookings so that if they get a rare booking it should be a 2nd one and red or straight reds. Mane v Chelsea and Newcastle spring to mind, Fabinho most games, inc the recent elbow on Son, 3 of theirs v Us, Milner v Us, Arnold v Everton, avoided a red v Rags, the list in endless. How different the PL table may look if they had key players rightly suspended.
The cups are the same, Sending offs for the opposition galore on the CL, Kept in the cup at Leicester by avoiding a blatant red when 3-1 down, then the dodgy officiating in the final. FA Cup game v Cardiff with a penalty not given at 0-0 (England on Var) and the Keeper only getting a yellow instead of a red.
Its easy to challenge for a quadruple when your looked after so much.

In contrast look at how we are officiated, 2 cards in 3 tackles v Leeds, both soft and same ref let them get away with murder, Ederson booked often for time wasting when the other keeper has been at it for the previous 80 mins, the 2nd leg v Madrid and what they got away with.

The Media do not help, it seems any rare decision is scrutinised, a media campaign on behalf of Dippers about an injustice, Klopp constantly in the refs and 4th officials face yet gets away with it game after game, ex players all over the TV and Media, its like refs are cowards and afraid of giving anything against them because of the backlash. Again Tierney, not appointed as Ref since the complained about him. Moss last night, Atwell v Everton, Oliver v Spurs.
It is noticeable how many home games they lost during lockdowns with no crowds so refs were a little more fairer. How many games is it now since a penalty against them? And some they do get are laughably soft.

Lets just watch Martin Atkinson tonight, then watch him v Dippers at Southampton and see the difference in how he officiates

Same refs getting swapped between each of our games tells you all you need to know. We need to be ruthless.

don't worry, the commentary team on the satellite broadcast will 100% be pointing it out and moaning about it ever three seconds just like they did between livarpool and Everton ;) 100%
It’s going to need a ref to actually apply the six second rule soon as it’s getting out of hand. Pickford is one of the worst offenders.

needs blowing up and dealing with. That’s if the powers that be are serious about the quality of football on show.
