Ref Watch

Not often I’m hoarse purely from screaming abuse at the ref. He was an utter disgrace. Is it an actual rule that keepers can’t be booked for time wasting until after the 85th minute ? Half the time he had his back turned to the time wasting, he was even pissing about near the touch line with the 4th official at one point while the keeper was faffing about.

And it might’ve been a sending off in todays game but it wasn’t clearcut enough to be overturned by var had he not given it but he couldn’t fuckin wait to pull the red card out.

Marriner is a disgrace, but he hides his incompetence (bias) very well. Two minutes were added at the end of the first half, but with all the additional stoppages, five had elapsed when he blew up. There was no way he was stopping before they got their final attack in. It all looks perfectly legit to the untrained eye or neutral observer.

Regarding the sending off, I've said it before - the initial decision is rarely overturned. Hence Marriner, Taylor et al give us the maximum sanction and United the most lenient punishment initially, knowing that those decisions will likely stand. Never is the benefit of the doubt given to us. Often it is to United.

There’s been a lot of shit this season officiating wise but today was next level. Book a keeper early on (he could’ve done it at 40 minutes and it wouldn’t have been out of place) and they stop. Simple. He’s embarrassed himself to let them get away with it. Prick.

People have short memories; OMR said at the start of the season that offsides would no longer be given for marginal decisions and the attacker would be given the benefit. Something about thicker lines being used. Hahahahahaha.

From PL website:-
“Firstly, for marginal offside decisions, after the one-pixel lines are applied, the VAR puts on the thicker broadcast lines and where they overlap, those situations will now be deemed as onside.”
we have fell foul to two already (when we've had goals chalked off)

Mariner is the type of ref that makes football not enjoyable, time wasting is the scourge of the game. He seems to take great delight in getting fans wound up and time wasting is what winds most fans up.
Keeper caught the ball second half and i watched the clock and it counted 16 seconds before he released it.

The laws of the game should be applied equally not just to both teams but consistently over the 90 minutes of the game. Can someone please explain to me what their kepper did differently in the 85th minute to get that yellow card than to what he was doing throughout from the 6th minute?
Booked for persistent time wasting it took 85 mins though Mariner a weak ref always has been he didn’t have the balls to deal with him as he should have done but couldn’t wait to send of Laporte he was reaching for his pocket straight away Palace were snide pulling shirts and arms to off balance players going down as through they been shot so poor that even Mariner ignored them but crucially didn’t do anything about it

He was managing this amount of time with nigh on every goal kick. We started counting - loud enough for Blind Andre to hear, but he might be deaf as well as blind to some aspect of the thing he's supposed to be arbitrating. He's yet another who is not up to the job, or he's following instructions from on high. There are too many decisions, every single game, where I'm left wondering WTF is going on!

If a player runs up and kicks the ball away every time there was a free kick he’d be booked after doing it a couple of times, so why the fuck are goalkeepers not booked for time wasting at goal kicks? It’s the same thing in principal as kicking the ball away. So why are they treated differently?

We were timing it the first half and the goal kicks were taking anything between 35-55 seconds at times. The ball must have been out one play for about 10 minutes in the first half just from the keeper time wasting, then if you include throwins and freekicks they took too long over fuck knows how long it was out of play.

Yet that **** in the middle added 2 minutes on at the end of the first half and only 5 mins at the end of the game despite all 6 subs being used (therefore again only 2 mins for the time wasting).

It has to be said though, and it’s been the same right back to when Kompany was captain… DSilva Fernandinho deBruyne Gundogan and now Dias… where the fuck is our captain when this is going on?! They should be confronting the ref after the second time it happens, and none of our captains ever speak to the refs about it. And none of our managers ever bring it up post-game.
The palace player who received treatment with the game stopped for 1:30 So effectively allowed 30secs
Time keeping needs taking out of the hands of the refs ball out not in play clock stopped Most matches ball is in play for 30 mins
