I agree about the undue criticism of Eddie. On the one hand, we have people slating Ederson for saving nowt and others saying the “disallowed goal” would never have happened as Ederson would have saved it anyway.
Football teaches more mental gymnastics than any other sport!
I’m not sure I’ve said anything but that?I agree about the undue criticism of Eddie.
But I also agree it was not a disallowed goal and we can’t be certain it would have been a goal had the whistle not been blown.
I think we can agree the defenders wouldn’t have stopped and just let him shoot? That back four tend to put their bodies where it hurts but they all just stopped.I agree about the undue criticism of Eddie.
But I also agree it was not a disallowed goal and we can’t be certain it would have been a goal had the whistle not been blown.
it’s amazing though that we can work through all the variables of the decision when it‘s in our favour, whereas when it’s for someone else, then it’s corruption.I think we can agree the defenders wouldn’t have stopped and just let him shoot? That back four tend to put their bodies where it hurts but they all just stopped.
We will never know but I suspect that shot wouldn’t have resulted in a goal had they all been playing to the whistle.
Mahrez was nearest, and looked about to put in a tackle, but everyone stopped, including Ederson. We will never know but I suspect that shot wouldn’t have resulted in a goal had they all been playing to the whistle.
Does Mahrez tackle?Mahrez was nearest, and looked about to put in a tackle, but everyone stopped, including Ederson.
I don’t tend to overthink these things. Just go off what happened in that moment in real time. At least two players in front of the Villa player had stopped before he hit it.it’s amazing though that we can work through all the variables of the decision when it‘s in our favour, whereas when it’s for someone else, then it’s corruption.
Absolutely. We’ve had someone on here time it and the ball was in play 31 minutes plus in the second half, more than the directive that people want to bring in with the stopped clock.Nice to see that the referees are enforcing the new directive to rid the game of time wastin, that tw@ in goal today really took the piss
Sure and I don’t either, but had the ref not blown, we’d have conceded unless Ederson had switched on in that moment.I don’t tend to overthink these things. Just go off what happened in that moment in real time. At least two players in front of the Villa player had stopped before he hit it.
I did say "looked about to tackle" to be fair.Does Mahrez tackle?
Just asking for the match day thread guys.
Fair.I did say "looked about to tackle" to be fair.
...not to mention the defenders as well, the whistle was blown, everyone on our side stopped.Sure and I don’t either, but had the ref not blown, we’d have conceded unless Ederson had switched on in that moment.
I’m not saying we didn’t contribute to not winning today but I was there and seen their keeper telling the ball boys to refrain from getting the ball back quick, he also had a drink before numerous dead ball kicks and then late in the game went down with a fictitious injury that entailed throwing the ball out so he could receive attention for this supposed injury.Absolutely. We’ve had someone on here time it and the ball was in play 31 minutes plus in the second half, more than the directive that people want to bring in with the stopped clock.
It‘s almost as if refs decisions are easier to blame than our own team.
We drew. We missed chances and conceded a goal. We could have done better.
Then my replies would have been vastly different :-)Sure and I don’t either, but had the ref not blown, we’d have conceded unless Ederson had switched on in that moment.
Yes, that is what I have been arguing.I think we can agree the defenders wouldn’t have stopped and just let him shoot? That back four tend to put their bodies where it hurts but they all just stopped.
We will never know but I suspect that shot wouldn’t have resulted in a goal had they all been playing to the whistle.
It’s an unknown. We can say what we think. The bloke scored off the bar. He might not have done, but its not impossible....not to mention the defenders as well, the whistle was blown, everyone on our side stopped.
Then ignore me, it’s late and I’m getting grief off my missus for arguing on a Saturday night in the bar with strangers on the internet!! Haha! She’ll understand one day..Yes, that is what I have been arguing.
I guess the thing I’m saying is that the players that stopped probably had no bearing on what happened. It’d have been down to the “much maligned” Ederson. Then my replies would have been vastly different :-)
