Ref Watch

No comments tonight. Our fave had a quiet game…
There was a foul on Bernie in the first half that was probably a booking where he didn't even give a foul....which is nothing in comparison to his previous performances against us, apart from that I can't call him but, he's still a twat (on previous showings)

He also gave a nothing-foul against us not long after the Bernie non-foul, blew the whistle bang on 45 minutes as we were threatening their area (despite 2 goals which should have been at least a minute of ET), and got in the way of our passing channels too many times for it to be a coincidence, but apart from that...

OliVAR has pulled his tricks from the touchline in recent derbies, no faith in him on Saturday. Odd that it's a nobody on VAR, they seem to be putting yes men with Oliver on reffing so he has complete control and isn't overruled by VAR.

On the flip side, if you want a better omen, it's the same line-up as Chelsea away. Strangely enough, this appears to be his first derby for just under 4 years, where he reffed the 2-1 away win at the Rags to all but seal the title in December.

That being said, we all know his propensity to fuck us over when needed.

Here's a radical suggestion .................
Every soccer boot should have a coded microchip that records contact with the ball (there must be something electronic in the ball already - just needs a bit of tweaking). When the clowns are scratching their heads over lines horizontal and perpendicular they could correlate that with the exact microsecond the ball was passed to the player deemed to be in an offside position.
I've got a really radical solution take two blokes give them a flag each stand em on opposite sides of each half and if they believe a players offside when the balls played they put the flag up, the referee can then blow the whistle. Outlandish I know but it might just work and be a lot quicker.

He couldn’t see the foul on Bernie unfortunately, he had a player blocking his view. Lino should have given it and helped him out.

Really happy to see Pep swerve shaking that slimy tw@t of a ref’s hand as well as make a well timed reminder we only win because we deserve to rather than being one of the ‘big’ teams with ‘istory’.

I really think Pep has developed an indelible bond with our club in the fact he really gets what we are up against more than any other manager we have ever had.

The ‘established’ clubs and their friends at UEFA, Premier League, PGMOL & the media thought they were set for life and then we came along. He has had a ringside seat to the totally subnormal behaviour of governing bodies, referees and the media towards us.

One day he will leave us but I truly believe both we as a club and his achievements while with us will hold a special place in his heart.

He’s a f*cking diamond.

It will be very interesting to read what Pep really thinks about English refs, VAR and media once he is no longer managing in England (which hopefully is a long way off yet)

It would be quicker for sure but we have plenty evidence that it works for some teams but not for others.

Oliver warming up for Saturday with an awful performance in the Dortmund game
Just seen some highlights. What did he see on the monitor to justify given the penalty having not given it in the first place. And was it really a red card, not in my book. Let's see how he refs us next time and see if gives this ludicrous decisions. Not holding my breath.
