Ref Watch

Other than failing to recognise and award the honesty of Foden(which was a fine example of why most players throw themselves to the ground) and continually being duped by the shithousery of the **** Ricarlison.......Oliver had a decent game.
At what point does honesty from Foden start to become naivety? This could happen to him in a Champs League final and this honesty could cost us big time. If the defender makes a rash challenge and there’s contact I expect Foden to hit the deck and give the ref a decision to make.

100%.

Thats at least the 3rd occasion where he has received fuck all because of incompetent officials,if they cant do their job properly which is very obviously the case.....then i do not blame any player for giving the useless fuckers the nudge they need.

Correct. How are we better off having to play on with the bloke in possession surrounded by four midfielders than having the free kick? You know this cos you are a ref, but most pundits and commentators don't realise that you only play on if it is actually better for the team who should get the free kick to play on.

It's fuckwittage / open to manipulation. Take your pick.
Because after the foul (a) defenders hesitate expecting it to be given, (b) they may be out of position, (c) with a free kick they will have everyone in defence and (d) City expect to play on. It's why our "fouls against" numbers are way lower than the number of fouls - not even the one where the offender got booked a few minutes later would count in the stats.

I don't see how you can criticise Oliver for applying advantage when that's how we scored the first. Did you not notice his "celebration"?

Where did I criticise Oliver?

I think referees have a very very hard job and deserve some kind of technological assistance or intervention..... Oh hang on a minute.... as you were.

I think refs have a very difficult job and need some technological assistance - low tech like a red hot poker up the occasional arse. We daren't risk Jonny being the first or we'd lose the poker after one application.

Might just be me, but I'll never be able to back "start throwing yourself at the ground more" as the answer to refs being terrible at calling honest penalties. Reform is needed, and not in the direction of more fake falling.

At some stage he'll start getting the benefit of the doubt because he'll have a reputation of an honest player. Jesus would have to be murdered to get a free nowadays cause refs just don't believe he's genuine.

Above doesn't apply to anyone wearing a red shirt of course.

I was listening to the broadcast on the OS and I got the impression that the referee had quite a few nstances where no one knew what decision he had or was going to give
Is he another of the incompetents?

Not sure why he gave another throw-in instead of a free-kick for the foul on Gundogan after blowing his whistle for it. The players looked confused by that. Other than that, I can't think of too many other complaints myself.

I was on edge with the ref, he wasn't overly bad but thought he could lose control at any minute, imo he got both reds right (in this day and age) I'm of the opinion that var should watch comings together at full speed because things look worse in slow motion, stones was a fraction late, a red yes, but with intent not a chance, if its a 3 match ban then imo that is wrong

There was more than one occasion when he was late blowing for an infringement. It was as if he was waiting for someone to tell him to blow his whistle. But that couldn't happen...or could it?

The strangest decision was that throw in?? How on earth could he give a retake? I think he didn't want to give a free kick on the edge of the area for the foul on Silva.

I can only think he thought gundo went down very softly and would have had to deal with villas appeals for a second yellow. Rather than deal with that he said just retake the throw.

not say ain’t I agree but only reason I can think of for that decision
