Ref Watch

Atwell should never have been allowed to ref another pro game after the “ghost goal” in the Watford v reading game a few years ago. He is the most useless of useless cunts. Even when I’m watching other none city games I think to myself “ you poor fuckers have got him today”. As for the other fat **** doing the VAR, well that just about sums him up. Another useless ****!
The problem is that who do you get to replace him ????? You should be looking at the lower league but trust me lads if you think the standard at the PL is bad then you ain’t seen nothing till you see how shockingly bad they are at our level :( and you wonder why the whole system is poor

Refs used to be assessed by a neutral assessor sitting somewhere in the crowd. Iremember reading an article by a former West Midlands player His report went to the FA who worked closely with the referees association on the discipline as well as appointments and promotions.
I don't know if the private armies today's football have the neutral assessors but if so who do they report to?
FA?
PL?
PIGMOL?

I still wonder how Riley's gang became so powerful having been whipping boys for so long.

Best I could do with what was available. Sky and Bt highlights don't show it, unsurprisingly.

fraction of second delay means he knew exactly what he was doing. He had plenty of time to pull back but he didn’t and his intention was clear as fuck .
They were at it from the first minute roughing us up, terrible ref.
Pretty sure I heard the bt commentary accuse Gundog of histrionics. They have no professional pride, just whoring themselves out.
he definitely did, he said Gundo had gone down theatrically .

Set the tone for the rest of the match.

Our players knew they were getting f*cked over whatever they did last night.

Yep. It's the culmination of little shitty decisions going against you time and time again that can wind players up and make them take their eye off the ball, lose their heads. Thankfully, you'd assume Pep knows this, and it's drilled into players to remain calm, but, they're only human, and it's bound to affect some games....

Law 12: Fouls and Misconduct

IMPEDING THE PROGRESS OF AN OPPONENT WITHOUT CONTACT

Impeding the progress of an opponent means moving into the opponent’s path to obstruct, block, slow down or force a change of direction when the ball is not within playing distance of either player.

All players have a right to their position on the field of play; being in the way of an opponent is not the same as moving into the way of an opponent.

A player may shield the ball by taking a position between an opponent and the ball if the ball is within playing distance and the opponent is not held off with the arms or body. If the ball is within playing distance, the player may be fairly charged by an opponent.

They need to brush up on their knowledge, Stones stood there is not an offence, so we''l put that under "we don't even know the rules/we'll make it up as we go along to suit", take your pick.

Exactly my thoughts mate, as we're talking about not knowing the laws a player (Gundogan) shouldnt have to leave the field of play after receiving treatment if the offending player (Jahkanabshahashsdhashdh) is cautioned or dismissed, Atwell made him go off the fucking incompetent / bent ****

We've been good at ignoring it over recent seasons, but last night was relentless.

The one on Gundogan, I thought was a yellow (as I thought the Stones one the other week should have been too). Some would have given red for it too.

All the rest, and there were a considerable amount, were shockers though.

For once the MEN got it right on last nights game. Stuart Brennan article on the referee and VAR performance spot on.

The breathtaking level of disregard by commentators like Townsend for what is there for all to see is bonkers. The Jesus incident was a reckless tackle where the ball may have brushed the underside of the defenders foot on his way to take out Jesus. I cannot conceive any situation where they would not be up screaming penalty if it was one of their paymasters.
I couldn’t believe the mumbling and waffling going on between him and Darke, each incident was brushed over as in definitely not a foul, pen or whatever to City and absolutely brilliant by Brighton who deserve every success tonight as they’re absolutely brilliant and fantastic and did we say absolutely brilliant?

The Brighton player has just tried to injure Gundo plain and simple. That's a red card in any match. Anyone who has played football at any level knows that is not an accident. He had to stretch and lunge to get up so high. What the fuck is Peter Walton talking about when he says Gundo's leg wasn't "bent" so it's just a booking? What about intent to endanger an opponent? They are just taking us for bloody fools.

only just seen the red card, no way was that a red, 50/50 at worst and wellbad was leaning into cancelo
scandalous decision

and non pen on gabby more bent reffing

There is only one person to blame for shocking officiating and that is the top man OMR.

Yes was a Sunday morning challenge just kicked him deliberately

That performance from Atwell was 10 years in the making. I was there on 29th October 2011 when we managed to beat Wolves 3-1 with 10 men and that twat was in the middle that day. It seemed like every decision he made was the wrong one, any advantage he could give to Wolves he did, every time we protested it empowered him.

An absolute joke of a referee who stands proudly next the likes of Clattenburg, Walton, Oliver, Taylor, Moss, Mason as morally corrupt 'professionals' who seem to officiate in a pre determined manner against us rather than to the laws of the game.

Until we have a totally independent body who oversee the refereeing and VAR in this country I feel we will continue to have performances like yesterday's as the vested interest in others and the bias against us is there for all to see.

Unfortunately for the shitstains we keep hoovering up the trophies which clearly hurts them and I really believe the actions of these cockroaches in our game will only endear Pep Guardiola to us further and he will stay at City for a minimum of 10 years.

Let them have their wanky little wins while we keep ordering Industrial sized vats of Brasso.
