Ref Watch

Anyone got any idea about what happened with salah and bernardo that made all the scousers with get their candles out? Looks to me that salah once again ( like he did with rodri) instigated physically first and then bernardo just returned the favour, so the ref cant give a foul because salah is fouling first in both instances. Thats what caused klopp to go full horse teeth

At the time I thought it was all fair to chalk it off due to an obvious quick shirt grab... despite it being soft. But.. when you watch it over Fabinho crashes into Haaland, first his knee makes contact with the big man with absolutely no contact with the ball.. this challenge makes him engage in a battle, he’s off balance, so grabs his shirt to gain control of the situation.

Both are very, very minor infringements, but Fabinho’s knee is the fist infringement.. my point is it’s a complete 50/50 tussle that the ref has had an excellent view off.. and he clearly waved it on.. yet it was reviewed as a clear and obvious mistake by the ref. It really wasn’t.
I’m sure the Ref only got shown the Harland part
He didn’t see the original bit of Fabinho fouling 1st on the Var when he went over to the screen
Making the refs original decision right 6 of 1 6 of another

If you’ve spotted, messages have been deleted. It‘s because you’ve been abusive and threatened violence. I‘d assume a ban of some sort will come your way if you don’t desist.
Listen we're all blues some more than others me especially more than you with your scouse tenancies, so if you don't want to take it private keep quiet okay.

No. I’ll call it how I see it. That doesn’t make me a bigger or lesser blue than you. That’s how forums work.

They don’t work when you try to shut down debate by being abusive or offering straighteners.

Let‘s be civil and debate what we have seen.

Let's just take this private.

But you do seem to really like posting in a way to wind people up and then complain when you get the expected response. You've said 'Night' a few times, maybe call it one?

Probably didn’t.. my point being where does it stop? And where does it start? You could probably find a minor infringement in the build up to 90% of goals if you look close enough. But if you are splitting hairs.. Fabinho’s knee made the initial contact with Haaland today.. that was the first foul if you’re re reffing the game..

Not at all. This one mattered, the others didn’t as they didn’t effect in a goal.
So a foul isn't a foul unless a goal is scored then it becomes a foul even if the referee decided it wasn't a foul as he didn't know at the point of the foul that a goal would be scored later on?
Is this what the sport has now become?

When a goal is scored, there are now checks to see if there has been a foul in the build up. This changed when VAR came in.

Something players, managers and fans wanted for 10 years every time a bad decision happened against their clubs and video technology got good enough to check.

What isn’t going to change is the subjectivity of decisions. That is where the referee’s input still happens. Sometimes it’ll go for your side and sometimes it won’t.
