Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

It’s possible. They’d have to be an awful lot of people making an awful lot of money to make it viable though.

Who do you think is paying them and for what purpose?

Doesn’t have to be money involved for it to be bent. See the Coote video. If he is bent, and I am not saying he is, money does not need to be involved, just dishonesty.

To that end I defy you to watch the clattenbung game at ours v spurs (sterling pen for the ball hitting his chest, that one) and not get the vibe that he has something he wants to happen regarding the result of the match.

It's the spread betting, first yellow and cards in general .
Penalties only come into it if your fixing the match.

I was replying to the guy who said the organisation was ‘wholly corrupt’

That suggests a lot more than an individual referee being ‘bent’

I can’t think of any other reason why a whole organisation would be corrupt. It’s an awfully big risk for a lot of already well paid people to take.

There must be some kind of big reward to them to overcome the risk.

If the top brass at the organisation are aware of any single instance of a dishonest event or events that were wholly responsible for changing the outcome of matches, or influencing betting markets and did nothing, then that organisation is corrupt whether you like it or not.

This is what I get from watching the men, the women, other teams. Look at the latest from Howie Redshirt. He reckons that Oliver (Uefa 'n Fifa listed, regarded as the best in the business!) 'n Coote got it wrong with the West Ham pen v The Rags. Webb describes a situation that as far as I can understand is a perfect description of when a pen should be awarded, but Howie, who delivered the worst performance of any ref in a WC Final in living memory, will know best. PiGMOL is horse shit from top to bottom.

Inconsistent and occasionally infuriatingly incompetent, and if I tried hard enough I could find a poor decision from every single referee (from Alf Gray and George Courtney to Mark Clattenburg and Anthony Taylor) that's ultimately cost City vital points or a place in a cup competition.
However I suspect that fans of other clubs could point to decisions, that in their eyes, have similarly benefited City

That's football and rather than reduced the crass mistakes VAR has simply made it worse

It's not corrupt though, That would take an extra degree of subtlety and sophistication that the current setup doesn't boast.

I’m not defending anybody. Unlike a lot of people, I like to keep an open mind. I was asking simple questions to the guy who suggested they were ‘wholly corrupt’
Just have a little peep at a fellow called Michael Riley. He was the top dog in charge of the referees. As honest as a day is long.

I now have a nose larger than St Marcus of Rashford (for the last sentence).

Was referee in the most shamefully bent game I've ever witnessed, and it was not subtle. Gave absolutely nothing to Arsenal that day. He let the Rags systematically kick Arsenal to bits and awarded Rug Head a penalty for a clear dive. No doubt suitably rewarded by the Piscan.
