Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

It was one of those where there was no intent and it was completely accidental but fucking hell when you saw the still of Bernardo's leg it's a red all day long.

He endangered an opponent and could have easily broken his leg. If that's true then I don't think it matters if it's accidental. Ait-Nouri needed to show more care and avoid the contact.

referee and linesman closest to North stand was fucking clueless. Watched Forest v Brentford last night, who booked every fucker to this who should of booked a few including KDB

Same ref who sent off the Bournemouth player v Rags and booked 6 more just a few days ago. Every week we see officiating v us that’s a disgrace.
Part of it is on Pep and the club for accepting it. Klopp, Artega, Ferguson would be calling it out for what it is, then get favourable decisions. We accept it and it happens the next game
Don't do this. Pep does not make strategic or managerial decisions at City. Pep works at City. Pep stopped talking about refs long time now, basically on late autumn of 2016. Journalists have attempted to get something out of his mouth regarding officials numerous times, they failed...

What has the man accomplished? He has created a team which most of the times will beat officials too. Every single man in that dressing room knows exactly what is going on for years. They feel it on their skin week in week out, with opponents encouraged to kick the shit out of us. And yes, all rules (physicality, handball etc) are applied differently to us. But the boys have been educated to leave everything behind them all the time and move on. They don't even bother to fucking complain anymore. They know that if they get frustrated, they will lose composure, focus and serenity, and, guess what, eventually will underperform. Which leads to dropping points, playing the ref's game...

That is City's condition and the team has accepted it, long long time now. Players know they need to work harder than others, as they will never enjoy any sort of protection. It's quite the opposite. One of the reasons Bernardo has said "...this team does not get the credit it deserves". One of the reasons the manager keeps saying "...everything we did, we did it alone", in every given opportunity...

Pep has nothing to do with this policy. And whether he agrees with it or not, it's irrelevant. Personally I don't give a fuck about his opinion on this. The man himself has said repeatedly that he may offer an opinion, but it's the club that makes the decisions. He "...follows the club". Direct quote. Which means he follows orders. Why should it be significant if he agrees with them or not? I mean, I know he's a noble man, I'm not that noble myself, with this war going on for years, I'm sorry, I cannot be noble. They have done everything to destroy the club, every fucking thing, on / off the pitch. They will keep doing it. Since we are tolerating this shit, why should they stop? They won't. On the contrary, they will probably get more aggressive. I don't think you need to study Clausewitz's work to understand this, it's common sense...

Has anyone got a video or picture of it? Couldn't see the tackle clearly from my view but it was obviously a bad one from Bernardo's reaction.
Paul Tierney on VAR. Have we ever had trouble with him before? (smirks). Anfield comes to mind.

Just watched it, do a search on his name challenge.

It's fucking deliberate!

Last week: Bournemouth v Rags. Bournemouth made 11 fouls= 4 yellows and a wrong red that was overturned after the game.
Tonight v Wolves made 11 fouls. No cards and a nailed on red not given.
That doesn’t even include the number of fouls where the ref plays advantage when we still have the ball

No it doesn’t

Yes it does. If you’re making your body unnaturally bigger, by its very definiton it needs an intentional movement to do it, that’s the whole point of the current wording.

What it doesn’t need is an intentional movement to directly handle the ball, the intent is just to make your body bigger than it should be compared to what the natural movement is.

Clearly the referee was affected by having the last red card he gave overturned. But there is no excuse from the var officials. Take your pick from high challenge, excessive force, not in control, endangered an opponent. Bernie could easily have had his leg broken there, and to think that challenge went completely unpunished is just mind blowing. How anyone can look at that replay and not ask the referee to take a second look, is worrying.

Thought it was poor too from wolves to try and keep the ball after we put it out so Bernie could get medical attention, thankfully that one wolves defender has a sense of gamesmanship.

The referee was poor all game, and the reason the foul counts looks so skewed is because he was obsessed with waving play on for us, even when we're being pressed and ended up going back to Ederson. On one occasion he indicated play on and Gundo was begging for the free kick just outside the area, and it instead went back to Dias with eleven wolves players in front of him. On another occasion we were fouled he gave nothing, wolves won it back via the foul, then lost it and only then does he throw up his arms to indicate play on. So, so poor.

I look forward to hearing the excuses on why that wasn't a red, the conversations should be made available to all. I certainly wouldn't want those clowns officiating me ever.
