Referees/Officials 2017/18 performances

Doesn’t the fourth official determine how much stoppage time there will be, rather than the ref? Either way, eight minutes was patently absurd in the circumstances.

Wasn't booked so he can and if any justice is served he will get a two match ban and Maddley given his marching orders as he isn't fit in mind and body to ref in the Premier League.

Everton and West Ham along with City will be asking why officialdom is so inept and corrupt if Gray isn't banned for two matches.

Agreed. There should be a disciplinary process for referees as well. Give a match changing penalty when the player has clearly dived should mean a 3 match ban at least for referees.

Is it coincidence that this ref sent Kyle off for absolutely nothing v Everton , then in the Liecester game dreams up 8 minutes added time and in the sixth minutes gives a penalty against Kyle for a non foul.
According to the BBC it was Madely who instructed the 4th official to put up 8 minutes added time.

On the field ref determines stoppage time!

WTF? Where did this 4th official has the watch crap come from?

There were two bloody noses and 6 subs. 8 seems a bit steep, but the 8 aren’t the problem, it is the making up shit for their penalty that is the problem. The sooner VAR comes in, the better! Fucking joke PK!!

Agreed CB and you will find by and large the decisions that matter haven't gone our way this year such as those last night.

I have looked at Walker's booking a number of times and their is contact before he hits the floor although in the old days it wouldn't have got a mention either way.

As for their penalty again based on the past two 2 match suspensions handed out I wouldn't be looking at Gray being on the team sheet against Manure.

Again it does little to help us though both in this game and the game coming up and if anything only helps Manure.

Straight to VAR and the penalty decision would have been reversed.

I am not a fan of the two match ban for diving if no yellow is given and if one is the punishment is left at that.

I think a ban for the rest of the game even if its in the dying stages and no matter where it occurs on the pitch is fair enough.

If you are sent off for diving on 2 occasions a one match ban on top of penalising your team by being one man short is more appropriate.

In any case that's up for debate but there has to be a better way than the current system as it penalises the side it shouldn't and rewards the side that should be punished within a game.

Two match ban for diving does NOTHING to help the team you’ve just screwed over and may further hurt them if they are in Relegation fight and the player misses a game against your fellow struggler! Fine the player two weeks wages and have him miss the next game against that opponent! Always felt that is what a red card should be, too! Two games, plus the next one against the opponent!

There is absolutely no way Madley can be sure that is a penalty, because it isn’t! Simple fact.

As for Walker’s...if Gray’s is a penalty, then Walker’s is a stone cold pen!

The bloke has got it in for Walker , three yellows in about 20 minutes of football and perhaps and I stress perhaps one of them would have been brandished by a decent referee.

I am surprised he wasn't given a yellow for the " foul " on Gray in the box (LOL).

No movement from the linesman at all and no wonder and he blows for a belated penalty after looking for assistance that wasn't forthcoming to give him somewhat of an out.

Yes we highlight the absurd nature of the current set up and it needs to change to favour the team that clearly has done the right thing as was the case for Walker and penalises the diver.

VAR will go someway to addressing this blatant anomaly but I still think if you have blatantly dived as Gray did you should be sent off.

When there is doubt then I firmly believe you should not penalise either party , there can be contact in the box in a variety of ways without the need for a penalty to be given.
