Look at that Zaha penalty and he got of? Watch him bust a gut to stay on his feet with more contact fouling then once he gets in the box he is hardly touched and goes down like a sack spuds! These so called experts should know what he is trying to do cheat!! In point whatsoever in looking at any incidents or bringing VAR it will be worse.
He realised that a foul outside the box wasn't what was required and ploughed on until he got into the box. The ref bought it hook, line and sinker.

VAR this, retrospective action that. Its all well and good discussing these issues but we're getting away from a much bigger issue that needs highlighting, it's high time that PGMOL came out with the truth about their Howard Webb cloning experiment, accepted that it has failed and apologised to the Premier league as well as the viewing public.

So far we have seen Fat Webb

Skinny ( Alty) Webb

And of course Demento Webb

This has been a failure of epic proportions and something must be done to stop it before it gets out of control.

Referee did buy it but the panel should know what zaha is trying to do and he should of got a 2 Match ban. If we get a penalty for similar be interesting how that is judged now the precedent been set!

Sadly, it does depend on who is on the panel. So many players and managers don't actually know the rules or how to apply them in many different circumstances. You hear comments from ex players/managers referring to what they think as being the rules and people think they are right. They talk about 'clever' fouls, 'good yellows' etc. but it's all just cheating really.

The fact that Niasse got done and Gray didn't just demonstrates to me that the system employed would not know an arse from an elbow. I've not seen the Zaha 'tumble' but if it's anything like the Grey one the system is no longer credible.

For me, the two incidents were mirror images. Minimal, if any contact, on a player with only one objective, at the crucial stage of the match. It worries me how referees like Madley and Moss view those types of incidents, occurring at the time they do, against a team currently enjoying the highest profile of any team in the Premiership. Do they view it objectively or do they view it as an opportunity to propel themselves into the limelight? Certainly a defeat at Palace on Sunday, acquired in that manner would have ensured Moss a level of attention he has never achieved before or is likely to again. It was particularly baffling as he'd denied Zaha free kicks for 5 or 6 previous dives where, if anything, there had been more contact. Maybe if he'd booked him for one of those he'd have been more inclined to stay upright.

Ive been thinking about the puncheon thing. And its a difficult one this.

The challenge was so late that we were well up the field. He played advantage.

Now from my days as a ref, i think the law is that if its a red you have to stop game immediately. IE no advantage.

So given how far up we were, it would be difficult to decide to stop for the red as there was every likely hood we could have scored from that. Having played on he couldnt then send him off as its against the laws.

Maybe im giving him too much credit

There's no law that says you can't issue a red card after playing advantage.

You are right, ive just looked. If puncheon had got up and legged it after us then hed have to stop it it to send him off (as soon as he became involved)

As we were, moss is a (insert insult here)

There was a fantastic one a couple of years ago in Portugal where a defender scythed someone down, the ref played advantage and he went and scythed the next guy down as well and the ref gave him two separate yellows and sent him off. It was a thing of beauty.

Think there was a gif on here of that.
