Referees/Officials

Decisions even themselves out over a season.

Don't they? This is what we are constantly told. It's never been the case though. Liverpool in their pomp always got the big decisions. Likewise united.

I'd be interested to see an alternative league table from this season with what the results 'should' have been.

I believe united have had a something like 9 goals given that should have been disallowed and also 7 disallowed against them that shouldn't have been ! That's some turnaround!!

I've had a look on line for said alternate table but can't see owt.

According to the MEN it's looking like Michael Oliver ..

Oh great Chicken Little the man who almost accidentally sent off Smalling two seasons ago and then spent the entire rest of the match ignoring stonewall penalties, a blatant red and as many fouls as United want. That's before we get into the Liverpool match this season.

A pathetic weak willed worm.

Self inflicted??

Here's a break down of shite decisions and i've not even had to think hard to come up with it.

Leicester away, even though we were shocking we could/should have had 3 or 4 penalties.
Everton away, Sterling brought down at 0-0, no pen awarded.
Arsenal away, Monreal last minute.
Spurs at home, no penalty for foul on Sterling, they then score from breakaway, offside goal.
Chelsea at home, well where do you start??
Rags, Ibra should have seen red for assaults on Ota and Kolarov.
Rags in the cup, pen for foul on Garcia, not awarded, foul on Otamendi in build up to their goal, again not given.
Saints away, pen for foul on Sane, not given but doesn't affect the result.
Liverpool, fouls on Aguero and Sterling in same incident, neither given yet they get dubious pen.
Then there's yesterday. I've had numerous rags say were robbed plus even the 1 Arsenal fan has said he thought there were some dodgy decisions against us!!!

I've not even mentioned all the fouls against Silva not awarded and which have allowed team to kick him off the park or the lack of yellows for fouls on us, How Kante got away with it at Stamford bridge i'll never know.

Now no doubt someone will come on here and tell me it all evens itself out, how Sane was 0.00025mm offside v Arsenal at home and we were lucky to win, well i'm sorry but that's all bollocks.

We're getting shafted every big game we play and i'm expecting the worse this Thursday.

It's a fucking miracle we're in the top 4.

Obviously, the bad decisions aren't self inflicted, but they aren't the biggest factor in our bad performance to date this season.

I don't for one minute think 'these things even themselves out over the course of a season'; it's random.

If I'd had access to a keyboard yesterday evening, you'd know how angry I get about these decisions.

There's no doubt in my mind we're getting shafted regularly but the biggest explanation why we're doing so poorly (relatively poorly) is our own bad performances.
The bad decisions haven't helped but the are not the biggest factor.

I'd like to see a video compilation which includes all these incidents, but any 'organized' protest is idiotic.

Self inflicted mate,LOL.

Putting pressure on the officials by being very loud can have an influence I think. The crowd in Bernabeu did IMO influence the ref to send Vidal off last week. They jeered mercilessly on every occasion where Vidal was involved in anything. Eventually the ref lost his nerves and sent Vidal off for an offence which wasn't even a foul.

A guy that worked at our place until he retired 15 years ago, was a pre-Prem First Division lino and ref for lower league games up to about 1990 (expenses and a very small fee in those days in addition to a normal job). We used to push him on the subject of the assessor in the stand (yes, they had them then). He told us that the assessor could be ruthless when he sat down with the ref to review his performance. Refs got a lot of stick then (the 80s) but the standard's got worse not better since officials started earning big money.

This lino openly said he enjoyed getting stick from the crowd and having banter with the players "You're fuckin' blind ref" "Yer 'avin a shit game yerself" (an alleged exchange with Adrian Heath in his Everton days). He's actually a rugby league fanatic and admits to being abusive towards officials when at oval ball games.

I digress. Every time we get screwed over I try and convince myself 'swings and roundabouts' then it happens again, and again and again and again. These officials have skewed the result of a massive game. Next time Pawson comes to our place he'll get the reception he deserves. He'll revel in it unfortunately.

The answer........ technology. You can't uninvent the technology that's already there.

All these complaints about how we have been cheated will just make us sound like spoilt children but a positive protest for fairness for all clubs may go down a lot better and we would get fans of many clubs joining in

A campaign now for video technology to be used in the prem from next season, not in 2,3,4 years time, it's been tested with France v Spain and proved a great success.
Fans of plenty of clubs feel they are regularly being shafted they will join in, bring the technology in now!
