Referees' Performances | 2025/26

What did they say ? It didn’t stop a goalscoring chance as he was going away from goal!!! After the keeper batted it away from goal well outside his box
The law is clear if the Keeper touches the ball with his hand outside the penalty area it is a foul. As he was the last man he should have been red carded as once Haaland got past him he would have had plenty of time to get a shot off.

Last man doesn't always mean a red. It has to be a clear denial of a goal scoring opportunity (DOGSO). On this occasion Haaland goes around Henderson with a relatively clear goal and that's why he should have been sent off. If only we had a recent example of Haaland going around a keeper away from goal and scoring to compare with. Awful decision and one that was never fully explained by PGMOL.

Doesn't it just?

The editing of the games and post match discussions set the narrative. Fans of other teams don't get to see us being fucked over, yet if one of the Cartel clubs gets 'wronged' we never hear the fucking last of it.

I'm normally not one for whataboutery, but if that handball decision in the FA Cup final last season had gone against one of the red three, we'd never ever hear the end of it.

Of course it probably wouldn't have gone against them in the first place.

All that proves is that there was a very bad wrong decision against us. It doesn’t prove that there is an agenda against us and other teams never get such decisions against them
Bollocks, that was the final match in the oldest football competition in the world. It was a disgrace how that incident was handled.

Anybody else and the outcome would have been entirely different.

It was a truly awful decision but an agenda??
The Rodri handball at Goodison would have been a gift to them if there was an agenda.
Shit happens.
I’m old enough to remember your namesake in 80-81 and his fuck up of a decision but that’s all it was

And will never be, because the only answer they could provide would simply be a total fudge of the facts and circumstances in order to cover up their actions.

Corruption and bias in plain site - time after time.

Meanwhile the rags continue to benefit from PiGMOL's wrong decisions game after game, getting totally undeserved points.

Sideshow Bob on Aguero - Same referee and pre-VAR. It looked for all intents and purposes Alty had no choice but to send him off, and then he appeared to get a message through his headset (touched his finger to his ear), and then... no sending off.

The form Aguero was in at the time, it was a clear a DGSO foul, yet for whatever reason (draw your own conclusions) the officials refused to even entertain it. And remember, this was pre-VAR, so the 4th Official, or whoever spoke to Alty (I have my suspicions) should have had nothing to do with the on-field decision making process.

That decision was the catalyst for both Aguero's and Fernandinho's sending off, and we went on to lose the game.

The keeper is the most influential player in the box for a corner so the ref’s first job is to make sure he’s not being illegally interfered with
I would say that all the attackers are more influential at a corner kick as they are the ones trying to score. Referees should be looking at what defenders are doing to the attackers first and foremost.

Us not not being awarded a penalty in the first half for Gvardiol being dragged down to the ground at a corner is bigger than Donnarumma being slightly held for their goal.

A foul is a foul.

Of course, Dippers in charge of our game v Dippers. Wasn't he the one who ruled out out goal for a phantom foul on the keeper the other year. Oliver on Var so soon after his shit show performance at Villa.

Referee: Chris Kavanagh Assistants: Dan Cook, Stuart Burt. Fourth official: Sam Barrott. VAR: Michael Oliver. Assistant VAR: Tim Wood.
Dippers will kick off it's a Manchester ref despite him openly supporting the dips.

Looks like they want it to be at best a draw for us.

I found it particularly depressing reading the refereeing forum accounts of the refereeing on the City / Bournemouth game, one described it as a perfect display of refereeing and others agreed it. I suspect that Taylor didn’t see the holding so that’s down to Tierney. Otherwise their were irritating decisions, the Foden yellow card being the most obvious - OK in isolation you could claim he was breaking up a promising move but there were many more obvious candidates before and after that which weren’t similarly treated.

However, if the sentiments regularly expressed on this referee’s forum are typical of the refereeing community then there is certainly a fair amount of animosity towards City. I don’t think this is organised as such but simply the consequence of all the negative media attention, and perhaps a little jealousy

So when our keeper pushes his hand on Semenyos chest just before the possible foul on him would you have that as a penalty ?
No
Semenyo is obstructing the goalkeeper
He’s preventing the keeper from playing the ball whilst making no attempt to play the ball himself. He is Infringing play and by the letter of the law committing a foul. Allowing the keeper to move the illegally obstructing player rather than blowing the whistle is a way of allowing the game to flow and is quite legitimate

The agenda angle is Gary Lineker saying he was pleased at HT as it kept palace in it, and the FA’s game highlights not even showing it!
