Referees' Performances | 2025/26

A foul is a foul.
That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying it’s easy to see why referees miss things in the box at a corner because so much is going on and they’ll more than likely be looking at the attacking team’s players being grappled, and VAR should be the ones to pick it up where the ref misses it.

Chris Kavanagh is a Liverpool fan, I've had that confirmed by a fellow ref! Don't even attempt to hide the blatant corruption.
How is it corruption that a referee supports a team?

Michael Oliver is a massive Newcastle fan.

It is allowed and is completely normal that they support teams.

And Oliver isn't allowed to ref Newcastle games, but it's ok for Kavanagh to ref Liverpool games

The agenda angle is Gary Lineker saying he was pleased at HT as it kept palace in it, and the FA’s game highlights not even showing it!
What’s Gary lineker wishes and the TV companies vigot to do with a referees agenda against us?
If you think we are fairly reffed, receive fair media coverage, and are fairly treated by the football governing bodies then you are very welcome to that view
I never said anything about media coverage and the governing bodies. They lean so heavily towards the red tops it’s unbelievable and ever since the takeover they have been against us. Agreed.

As for refs on the pitch , I don’t agree.
Like I said earlier . Rodri’s goal v Everton would have been a gift , but no , it went our way

Rodri’s ‘handball’ you mean. With powers of recollection that sharp you may have missed some absolute refereeing howlers we have been on the end of ;-)

Has to go down as the worst decision of all time both on-field and VAR. I doubt any other clubs can find a worse one than that against them in such a big match.
There was the Grealish “handball”, the awarding a free kick to casimero after he chopped Akanji (?) in the same game where the cnt should have seen red for said assault, the Rashford offside goal…

I don't understand why Taylor is still recognised as one of the best English referees. Whenever I watch him these days he is on the verge of losing control of every game. Granted I only watch him in City games so that may explain it.

But maybe it's because he tries to let the game flow with a degree of leniency on physical challenges. Was he better at that a while ago but now he has lost his mojo? Maybe after the Mourinho incident? He just seems so out of it.

You’re being very disingenuous again here. Michael Oliver has made it clear he supports Newcastle and therefore cannot ref them. His point is that Chris Kavanagh to the best of his knowledge supports liverpool but hasn’t declared it and can therefore ref liverpool. Same as a lot of people believe Taylor is a clear rag from a clear rag family but declared himself an Alti fan and so can ref the rags. That’s what he is saying is corrupt, in his view

A referee not being truly honest, who would have thought it?

Sideshow Bob on Aguero - Same referee and pre-VAR. It looked for all intents and purposes Alty had no choice but to send him off, and then he appeared to get a message through his headset (touched his finger to his ear), and then... no sending off.

The form Aguero was in at the time, it was a clear a DGSO foul, yet for whatever reason (draw your own conclusions) the officials refused to even entertain it. And remember, this was pre-VAR, so the 4th Official, or whoever spoke to Alty (I have my suspicions) should have had nothing to do with the on-field decision making process.

That decision was the catalyst for both Aguero's and Fernandinho's sending off, and we went on to lose the game.
He and we all knew even though it was only December he'd won the league for Chelsea that day.

Kavanagh
Barrott
Salisbury
Brooks
Banks
Bramhall
Jones
Gillette

All of these have public ally refused to disclose the team they support.

Dipper England claims he's a Barnsley fan.

Mike Dean - The 'Tranmere fan' moved home so he could referee Liverpool matches, particularly derby matches.

Taylor did the same with regards Derbies.

You'd like to think they are professional enough to do their job without their football allegiances being an issue. So why not disclose them?

La Liga had an issue in the 90s when over half of their top flight refs were found to support Real. Probably more 90% now.

:)

Scottish league cup semi last Sunday, Ref and both linesmen, ra shellik supporters. A bigoted loaded dice for sure

Lets not forget the blatant Arnold handball at Anfield where following this they went up the other end and scored. VAR reviewed and for some reason, they couldn't see the handball. Massive swing in the game, from potentially 1-0 up, to 1-0 down

Cheats the lot of them, as proved by their team allegiance non disclosure

I was talking to George Courtney about this decision a few weeks ago. He said it was the worst decision ever in an FA cup final but wasn't surprised given the ref and who was on the var.
