Referees' Performances | 2025/26

so who cares how long it takes a long as they get it......what does it prove if it takes a few minutes or so? Some people on here are that deluded that they think cause it took ages to give a decision that it was some sort of conspiracy to try and rule the goal out.....and still they gave it...!!! fucking laughable

All goals have to be checked by VAR as well regardless

VAR is a pain in the arse but would people want to go back to just the refs on the pitch? ANY decision that a human is involved in is going to be subjective to some extent.....there will ALWAYS be the possibility of human error (or corruption - just look at the recent resurrection of the absolute absurd idea from rag fans that the QPR match in 2012 was "fixed" - its absurd to a point that some of these people are SO FUCKING WEAK that they cant accept losing even years later)

...but the fact that people feel the need to discuss refs decisions so constantly and at such length with such verocity just proves my initial point.......they would rather talk about this then look at the fact that we just arent that good at present...

its a convenient distraction from a truth that some people are to weak to accept.
I'd abolish VAR in a heartbeat. It's added nothing for me and would rather take my chance with a ref's split second decision, good or bad.

Due to the coordinated spoiling of our club's reputation, referees can make decisions against us without fear of ANY backlash from media or fans. Zero.
They are in the novel situation of having a "free hit" when reffing us.
Conversely, any gamesmanship that we copy from other teams (faking injury, time-outs, cynical fouling, keeper wasting time, etc) is highlighted like we invented it.
It's a form of bullying, and it is endemic in all areas of media and society. Just look at other fan forums and BBC HYS's, truly extraordinary.
This is the price we are already paying, for the charges.

Correct! Club don’t help them selves and we know pep won’t rock the boat after games! Look at Farka straight after the game has a moan about Donno going down! It’s all over the media this morning massive talking point! I’ve even heard it cheating! BBC big headlines! Now if Pep said the same thing Farka did about say Arsenal Raya doing it, you can bet the media would have spun it in a negative way towards pep and our club!

Said it before the media are utter scum full of the red scum! With full on agenda!

I’m no tin foil hat person, but following the second goal his whole approach to the game changed. Fairly even until then, almost as if they used the nonsense of VAR to relay some orders.

I would take ref on the pitch and humam error over 5 mins of VAR and then some clown in an office still being wrong sometimes any day

Our officials are wank so VAR is ineficient.

Think it was Southampton with Ramsdale in goal that ‘invented’ the keeper injury around the hour mark. At that point it was more about taking on fluids than a tactical talk. Ramsdale moves to Arsenal and lo and behold Arsenal use it for team talks sometimes around the 20 minute mark. This continues with Raya. Remarkably hardly a word is said by anyone in the media yet the fans know what is going on. City do it once and it’s all over the place.

no

now i can accept that they are substandard..thats fair enough. Incompetent even...

but those that complain that the refs are deliberately cheating us on a regular basis are losing a grip on reality
You often post this. One question. When the gpc was in charge do you think every referee that went to old trafford gave them favourable decisions ?
If your answer is yes then your post above is nonsense.
If the answer is no then it's you who hasn't got a grip on reality

It’s the only way for the premier to take action to stop it! Man City do it! Remember when we scored a goal where a player ran from an offsides position but because the opponents defender touched it it wasn’t offside so our player took advantage we scored! All over the media saying “THIS IS’nt RIGHT” think it took them a week to change that rule!

I was there today so please correct me. Their penalty, I am sure he didn't blow his whistle for a foul, he played advantage, they shot and they missed so he gave a penalty. That is, if I'm correct wrong in every department.

Did he blow straight away ?

Yes he blew straight away, blew with gusto.
He should have been wearing make up and a funny hat, he was a Clown.
I sat next to a Leeds fan, who brought his City supporting Son from Ireland, and he said " worst ref he has ever seen" and he meant biased.
It is normally all the little soft fouls they give to the other teams This guy a little more obvious.

He attempted and succeeded in intimidating them absolutely and got in their heads - yes he did but that is different to what is being suggested by some....for instance that VAR took so long as they were deliberately (but some how failed) to try and rule our goal out vs Leeds - ie cheat

Was he bribing them with brown envelops or that the FA were somehow in cahoots wth Arsenal to make them winthe league as some people are getting at - no. Its as ludicrous as those suggesting (like Goldbridge) that the QPR game was rigged

I completely agree on all of that...

I would also just go back to the ref/officials on the pitch as well.

Goal line tech aside - the rest just takes away from the games...

You do realise that the VAR is a human and not some sort of robot.
