Referees' Performances | 2025/26

The state of some posters - give it a rest you absolute fannies.,Ref was fine; we drew thanks to a very late equaliser

You think the fouls on Rodri by James were ok, and the number he committed before getting a card were ok too.

Calling other posters fannies is a bit rich .

I have never liked Oliver - he has always been more lenient to opposition players while falling over in his haste to book one of ours for the slighest offence.
Why didn't VAR look at Delap's assault and recommend a RED?
Oh, silly me, it is City, cannot be seen to be giving them anything.

Oliver allowed James to foul at will in that midfield, and Rodri could have got a serious injury , but Oliver let him foul at will, and only booked him after about 5 clear fouls.

Let plenty go, and Palmer deserved a booking too.

Let far too many things go, and Delap should have seen red for a petulant and dangerous assault.

Don’t care what anyone thinks it’s by design and how we are reffed, every game we are seeing players commit multiple fouls and nothing then once we foul it’s normally a card shown..

Perhaps the fans should submit a petition to the club DEMANDING they publicly seek a Please Explain meeting with PiGMOL on why our players are continually fouled without any disciplinary action from the refs - enough is more than enough!

Won’t happen as you end up with a media pile on calling us out about being petty it all evens itself out over a season anyhow apparently…

I reluctantly realise that - but the rags have reputedly requested a meeting because they feel hard done by, so why cannot we.

If you click the link all the information is there

Only authorised persons are allowed to enter the VOR or communicate with the VAR/AVAR/RO during the match

VAR officials (Video Assistant Referees) do not have contact with the general "outside world" like fans or commentators during live play; their communication is strictly limited to the match officials (referee, assistants) via a dedicated comms system, with information relayed to broadcasters and stadiums only after a review or when a decision changes, ensuring a controlled environment and preventing chaotic, real-time audio. They work from a Video Operation Room (VOR) and focus solely on "silent checks" and recommending reviews for clear and obvious errors in key situations like goals, penalties, red cards, and mistaken identity, as per IFAB rules.

I must say your faith in the veracity of what we are told is commendable. They have also told us that games won't be re-refereed, that referees must always make an initial decision and, the crowning turd in the water pipe of half-truths we are told, that VAR is being introduced to eliminate errors like obvious off-sides, deliberate handballs and the rest. We just get told what we have to hear so they can go on their merry way.

Usually after a sleep I've taken in a bit of perspective and softened on the decisions of the match and any feelings of injustice.

But not this time. Oliver directly contributed to both the result and injuries to two city players with his inept and unfair performance. Should have been on the cards earlier, Chelsea were obviously leaving one on us from the very early stages, whether that was tactical or because they were a yard behind is irrelevant, as should be the fact it's the opening twenty minutes.

The delap challenge, I thought yellow at the time but having seen it again you just can't allow that kind of behaviour on the pitch, it's obviously endangering an opponent and yet I don't think there was ever a var review for a red?

I guess we now face a run of games with only one fit first team defender, in no small way due to the way the game was allowed to play out yesterday. Were we unlucky with the injuries? Well Rodri was clattered twice before gvardiol or Dias went off injured, O'Reilly too, Haaland several times. It was a display of unequal and unfair refereeing, Chelsea took full advantage unfortunately. The effect that will now probably have on our season, not just the title race, will be significant, and I'm not ok at all with just saying it was one of those days, it was totally avoidable but Oliver had no interest in duty of care to city players yesterday. As evidenced by our physio room now.

Haven’t said I believe it just pointing out the protocol however I don’t think there is communication between VAR and the outside world as some believe
I have absolute belief that they are manipulating the offside decisions to suit their bias
I also believe that the VAR pick and choose what they get involved with to suit their own agenda
Not saying their is a conspiracy though

Newcastle had a goal disallowed because Wissa shoulder was offside. However, only parts of the body that you can score a goal with should be deemed offside. Now the handball law states the shoulder is included for the purpose of the law? Once again rhe PL have their own interpretations contrary to the actual laws.

They don't want to upset their red massed sky audience

No mate the ref was fucking awful.. Not blaming him for the result but he let them kick fuck out of us.. As for the Delap push on Khus it should have been a red.. Could easily have seriously hurt him..

How the fuck did Reece James stay on that pitch. Oliver you're a useless ****
Neville changed his mind for man of the match (or player of the match , I can't keep up with the woke brigade) once Chelsea scored , and give it James.
Probably because the rag **** loved the fact James could twat City players at will and get away with it, especially after he was the origin a couple of years ago of "teams should leave something on City players to disrupt them".
That's what we're up against, every game of every season and some fucker from our football club needs to challenge it, publicly

It’s always hard to tell from the stands but we either gave away an awful lot of unnecessary free kicks during the last 10/15 minutes when Chelsea were pushing for an equaliser or Michael Oliver was determined to make sure we didn’t retain possession of the ball.
