Referees' Performances | 2025/26

Loads of shit decisions by him in our games....that Chelsea game with Luis staying on and Fern & Kun getting reds effectively handing Chelsea the league is the main one for me but, I'll chuck in Delphs red at Wigan in the cup too.
That Chelsea game was the game where Ian Cheeseman lost his shit and ended up parting company with thr BBC shortly afterwards. Absolutely bent as fuck that performance from Alty; it's not even up for debate.

I watched,Match Officials Mic'd up on Monday.
Webb and Owen spent a third of the programme on Spurs's penalty at Sunderland being correctly overturned, explaining the different angles ect.
Then totally ignored the Doku penalty, which when viewed from the behind angle was definitely a pen.
The month before they totally ignored the hair pull on Semenyo, having in an earlier programme agreed that Keane of Everton had to go for a hair pull, violent conduct.
Move on to Utd v Leeds, suddenly hair pull is a red card again.
VAR is certainly selective in it's choice of incidents to review.

Just another of the PL match-washing exercises, keeping the brand clean and strong to keep their subscribers content.

I tell you what. Just watching the Chelsea game again. The non-penalty decision from Palmer on Doku was checked and cleared within 10-15 seconds by VAR.

That’s outrageous really.
It appears that most reviews, certainly in our case start with the question 'Do we want to give a penalty?'.

Once they decide they don't want to give it, they wait just long enough to give the impression they've checked it and then hit the 'Check Complete' button 'No penalty'.

There is simply no other explanation for not giving that decision as a penalty, because the reverse angle (which they obviously didn't consider) clearly showed the foul.

Bottler, he had a very good view.

I didn't watch the HT stuff and obviously it's not all over the news but was it in/out of the area? I thought that needed much closer attention from VAR.

That was one of the worst ref performances I’ve ever seen.
The handball and red not given, nothing for ripping Haalands shirt

But the best was the head movement towards Haaland.
That’s the clearest red you will see all season.
Ref is right on it too.

I hope city make an official complaint.
It was blatant cheating from Taylor.
