Referees' Performances | 2025/26

Can't believe there are freaks on here defending it. If the linesmen puts his flag up straight away the ref stops play. Guehi wouldn't feel under pressure to continue playing and passing the ball under pressure from the Everton player. And the offside player benefits from being closer to the keeper to intercept the pass. It's a joke.

Still doesn't excuse a shocking performance but for me the rule they're using to justify it is a farce.

Yes but the rules allow it as he came back onside. Granted he benefited from it but regardless by the laws of the game it's a goal

So centre backs get zero positives from that rule they have no choice but to continue playing the ball. Pretty sure both Ederson and Stones have been injured from blatant offsides not being flagged straight away too.

Even the greatest manager in the modern era is on to a loser with the officials in this country.
We get zero protection and it's only a matter of time before a city player's career will end because of the allowance of over physicality against us.
The longer the result of these charges goes on the worse it is for our team/club from the media and officials.
It's not a coincidence

I’m no expert in the offside rule, but i thought to myself when I saw the first replay of the Guehi fuck up that we’re in trouble here

Keane would have been sent off in any other game not involving City

Felt that in general Oliver listened to the crowd a lot during second half especially

Referee didn't cost us the win. He wasn't the one stopping us taking shots on target second half.
Yes Everton fouled a lot, but we got most of the frees.
Can't really argue with the "Offside" goal, given the rules. The flag didn't need to go up, as it never reached the striker, and we have the ball with clear possession, it's then a new phase, and we just made a mistake, not the officials.

Should Everton have been down to 10 men?

Carragher spat out that it was only a yellow so that’s that lads.
Or an Orange...If he had been shown a red card not one of the so called expert pundits would have disagreed with the decision. Same with var, they can make it up as they go along to suit the club and the narrative. It's about as clear as a day in Pompeii the morning after Mount Vesuvius erupted.
