Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

This is a genuine question: is there anybody on here that has actually become a Reform member? If so, what was your logic, where do you think your money goes and what rights and say as a member, do you have on the way the company is run?

there are no members - they are donors. The donate £25 a year and Farage calls them members but they aren't. They have no voting rights they have no say on policy decisions as members do in any other Political Party.

Farage owns the company together with Tice. The only person who is getting interviewed to reveal this is Ben Habib and he is only squealing because he was removed from office and replaced with a richer man because the mans money was of more use to Farage.

Ok,we can play with semantics all day long. It is all over the news that it is a membership, whether we like it or not or whether that is strictly accurate or not. I know the structure of the party and I referred to Habib in a post last week.

I specifically aimed my question at anybody who may have "joined" or paid some money over to them to get an idea what THEY think they are getting and why they think that is a sensible course of action and use of their own money.

If you walk into a local shop and hand them £25 have you "joined" that business for £25 or have you just donated to a limited company?

Whether its sensible - no because they are being duped. Good use of their money? Only they know the truth about that. What are they getting? They are getting that great success Brexit in v2.0. Something not defined in detail but it can be described in a simple slogan "I want my country back".

Like Brexit what the individual thinks its getting will more or less be unique to that individual. A country you want to be is likely to reflect a persons lived experience. My dad is 87 next year, I'll be 64 and my son 29 so if we were believers the country we would want "back" is unlikely to be the same. Its all based on race and racists - the usual Farage followers - some know you can't just deport people to a country without agreement and you can't use Marines on the beaches without creating an act of war with a friendly country (both Farage suggestions this year) some won't know because they can't be arsed to research the prospect. As for anything else they don't know what they are going to get as there is no concrete policy from Reform for them to consider

It was on the back of that programme this morning that I asked the question as there a bloke form Manchester on earlier than this clip who just left me thinking that some people are too thick to be allowed to vote and determine the fate of others.

I get all of the other points that you are making and agree, I am still aiming the question at someone who has actually taken the decision to part with their cash and why. I'm acutely aware that even if someone has done so they may well be unwilling to admit it on here.

You may have took beyond this forum then mate

I for one wouldn't pay to be a member/donor of any political party. It really stuck in my throat being forced to pay subs to a union in the 70/80's.
So none of your subs went towards the likes of legal representation for members if it was required? I was the memebr of a union that wasn't affiliated to any political party. The press and some employers would have you believe that being a member automatically means you are funding a party but that is absolutely not the case.

I'm sure some of it did but the point was I was forced to pay it regardless of whether I wanted to or not.

When I was in a trade union, one could opt not to pay the political levy. So anyone in a union now who is paying it does so voluntarily.

Many companies donate to political parties (mostly the Tories). However, I can't get x% off my payment to Sainsbury's if I don't support the company's stand.

But I bet you stayed quiet when the union got you a pay rise or defended you against the management. Like they all do.
The reason most people won't join a union is because it costs a few quid to be a member.

Yep, the political levy was optional where I worked too. Maybe @maxwellblue didn't realise and has held a grudge ever since for no reason.

Don't hold a grudge at all. If that was the case, as a naive 17 year old coming out of the training school onto the shop floor I wasn't given the choice which speaks volumes for the union officials.
