Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

Wow,
I think history demonstrates that left wing regimes have the edge when it comes to oppression and violation of human rights. The right by definition is libertarian, the left by nature is authoritarian.
Please don't tell us you think Hitler was left wing. And all those torturing Latin American military dictators installed by the CIA. And Trump. And Putin. And Marcos. The Shah? Botha?

So long as it’s the right government in charge though…? ;)

There’s a reason international agreements were signed up to in the first place, ourselves being the main proponents of it (before we got so partisan and isolationist).
The right government will be the one that is elected and that government will be able to amend our laws as it has been given the mandate to do so.

Have you ever thought that the right wing want to withdraw not just from the ECHR, but from upholding human rights?
It kind of puts a huge spanner in the works regarding the Good Friday Agreement, not that I've heard any concern about that being expressed from the English centric right wing parties.

My assumption from their silence on this major issue is they don't care, which, in its way, sums up their attitude to all of us.

That thought process was why we were proponents to putting international agreements in the first place on specific laws but fair enough. What level are you advocating that at then? Is it British? Or do the individual countries all deserve to have their own feelings completely reflected in their laws?

You see where that thought process goes eventually though? And also why there’s specificity in some right down to even a county level vs others at an international level.

A government does not have a mandate to put in any law it wants to, it never has done.

No , I spend fucking hours reading up on obscure Human rights laws of individual countries, I am sure you do to
That said..
You make my point for me , thank you very much - they have their own versions and so should we. As a sovereign nation, we should make our own laws and be able to amend them as we see fit by our own democratically elected Parliament as they do.
I don't think I make your point, as your point is adjusted each time a poster proves you are talking nonsense

So you don’t want us part of the European Human Rights Act, but agree that we should be signed up to an equivalent under our legislation?
What part of the ECHR specifically do you not agree with?

This'll be a tough one for the flag wavers..
I very much doubt it. They only seem to have one issue: "taking are country back."

Everything Farage says and does - given that he is bereft of a single original idea - points to him copying Trump's playbook should the dark cloud of Fascism arrive in Britain after the next General Election.

You would think that people would heed the warning rather than embrace it, but I am optimistic that there are enough sensible people out there to ensure that we never elect an ultra right-wing government.

I’m not so sure as it’ll need the centrist parties to unite, think it’ll take reform getting in for that to potentially happen.

The worrying thing is if that happens, we’re effectively even more in an American model of a two party system. We’ve already had too many people adopt the rhetoric of purely “left” or “right” and the standard of political debate has gone through the floor.

joke of a party, and people will vote for them because they're being brainwashed that Labour are destroying the country.
They just need to fool enough of the people for enough of the time to gain power.
There are enough fuckwits whose only literate skill is the ability to write X next to reform on a ballot form.

Farage being led by the trumpian playbook. He'd sell the NHS to American operators in an instant, throw out pension guarantees, slash benefits. And all the fuckwits would wave a flag because a plane full of brown kids departed Stansted.
And they'd then complain when a GP visit costs £100, prescribed medicine costs £50, Grandma's pension will stay the same rate for five years. But don't worry, there's no car wash where an Afghan can touch the fiesta.

To a tee. Very well put.
