Why does he not tell the truth then? 45% of people apparently support his ‘policy’ but the vast majority of them believe that this so called ‘illegal’ immigration massively outweighs legal immigration which is, of course, utter bollocks.

Why is it we have to understand and pacify them and not them having to do the same?

Getting a bit sick of this view, and it's been expressed a few times either by those on the right or by smug centrists, it's not my responsibility to prevent people from taking views that are abhorrent. The opinion that the left are causing the right to vote the way they are, and are solely responsible for the support of things such as Brexit & current Reform polling is laughable. This shit is ingrained in them, via parents, social media or just bare faced racism.

Insulting people for behaviour that includes wishing that boats are shot out of the water, glee at people drowning, intimidating people going about their day based on their race on one of their protests, saying the most despicable things online behind a wall of anonymity, and for voting for a grifting twat who's already irreprably damaged our country.

I'm sorry, but if the boot fits, wear it. I highly doubt being nice and understanding to their views is going to change them, and I am not going to prop up the fragile egos of racists, fencesitters and so forth. If this country becomes an even further right wing shithole than it already is, then on their heads be it, no more workers rights, NHS, dole being taken off a bunch of them, tax cuts for the megarich, will all be on them, they've already proved blowing their legs off to spite their face to 'own the left' or 'get the pakis out' is all that matters.

Also sick of the right claiming the working class, and claiming those on the left are sneering middle/upper class poshos. Sorry to burst any bubbles, but there's plenty of young, working class people who've grown up under Tory rule, and haven't swallowed the alt/far rights bile, stop trying to claim us.

One thing I have noticed with social media, is that they live in these echo chambers and have done now for 10-15 years to the point where they're just openly racist and hateful in real life. It used to be that you'd say, people wouldn't say the stuff they say online in real life, but nowadays they absolutely do. It's seeping through.

My argument for people who fall for the propaganda around immigration has always been that their lives are shit and it's human nature to look for an excuse, and when one is handed to them they'll take it. I've never liked the people who are smarmy in response and look down on these people without trying to understand why they're so fed up.

But it's going too far now, genuinely don't know where we go from here, Reform will definitely get in power and we'll be left to deal with the consequences.

Asylum seekers are also entitled to free access to the NHS, state education for their children, and in some cases, free school meals.

This guy is one of my local councillors. As well as the above he's been involved in a few dodgy deals locally. About 10 years ago there was £100k donated to the area for community projects. He put in for the money to go towards a new leisure centre. Our local pool had recently been closed down and the plans showed his group were going to update a private leisure facility and build a new pool. He won the vote hands down.
He then got more funding from Sport England towards this project.
Now we still don't have the promised pool and the leisure centre is completely run down.
A few years after Sports England had given the grant they came to inspect the facility and find out what was happening. Nothing, was the answer.
They tried to get the funding back but it wasn't there anymore. Their inspection came to the conclusion that they had spent approximately £35k. So, basically, £300k gone missing.
He also evicted the running club which had used the facility for 50 odd years along with 3 football teams who used the pitch.
And to think that the locals, knowing this, voted him in.
 
Another 1 of our local Reform UK councillors is Adrian Schulman. He's only been in the country about 8 years. He came over from Zimbabwe to avoid the trouble there.
Not sure how you can represent that lot when you are basically an immigrant yourself

Nottingham Evening Post/Nottingham live have been diligent since they took over the council and asking simple questions about policies that affect the people of Notts. For their audacity in asking these questions they've been banned.

I'm not the biggest fan as they are run by the same people that run the Echo but it feels the local democracy journalists here are the only ones asking serious, non partizan questions of how they intend to run the council.
