He's on the ropes, and the worrying thing is , if he goes there is no credible opposition to the government. Tories are done. Reform will go. The country needs good, fair opposition.

Who would oppose Labour (and I say this as a Labour voter)?!

In spite of my disdain for Farage and everything he stands for, I think taking up insults he said when he was at school is a pointless exercise. The use of racist and homophobic language amongst teenagers in the 1970s was fairly widespread and Farage is far from unique. The difference is that most people grow out of that sort of behaviour but in Farage’s case it just evolved into him remaining a racist **** but having the intelligence to introduce plausible deniability into his true attitudes. His record as an MEP and MP should be enough to consign him to the political wilderness.

Agree, he won't lose any support on something he might have said as a school kid.

My cousin's lad has one. So far he's been punched, slapped, spat on, abused and called a fuckwit.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when he wears it outside the house.
 
What age do people think we should go back to for these "investigations"? For instance we have the Bulger killers as guilty, we have Shabina Begum as guilty, we have Farage as guilty. All relatively young. What about 17 year old Virginia Giuffre? Should she be judged as a child or an adult? Where should the line be drawn?
 
Whilst my wife was out for lunch she bumped into an old school friend Mark Romney. She quickly realised that he's a councillor. He represents Murton and lives in Rookhope which is an hour away. Of course he's a Reform UK councillor. She asked him how he came to represent Murton.
Apparently no one else was willing to so his name was drawn at random.
She also asked him how he could represent Reform UK given he and his parents immigrated here in 1978. At this point he made his excuses and left.
 
It's not just what he said when he was 17 years old, it's how he's handling it now, if he hadn't made such a song and dance about refuting these allegations I wouldn't have known anything about it. We can all make mistakes and say stupid and ignorant things as teenagers, if it comes up later in life you apologise for it, express regret for it and move on. But not Nigel, he never apologises for anything, and doubles down on everything as a reflex action, anyone who says anything against him is lying or trying to deny him his freedom of speech.

Makes me laugh when he claims someone is 'being political' against him.
