Richard Tice on LBC just now, one of the most car crash interviews ever - If anyone is seriously thinking of voting Reform it’s just beyond pity.

Both Farage and Tice have been on everything this morning, the media love them. The Lib Dem’s, our 3rd biggest party, don’t get a look in and Reform seem to get more publicity than many of the major parties.

You’d almost think that these outlets want to see Farage in power. I wonder what he’s got in common with all these establishment billionaires?

Immigration has been the single biggest issue in the electorate for about 25 years. We left the EU specifically because the electorate believed it would stop immigration. The Tories were repeatedly voted in because they were seen to be tougher on immigration.
Any Party who is seen to be hard on immigration and is socially acceptable to vote for will get huge support.

I agree. It’s the single biggest issue effecting pretty much every election in the western world right now - its arguably the main reason leave won, trump won and all these populists parties are coming into power.

If labour bring the numbers down and start controlling legal/illegal migration they’d probably win the next election.

No one will bring the numbers down. Especially Reform.

I think you will find that polls state that immigration is quite a high priority, but not the top priority by any means.

The problem is it's impossible to have an objective, mature debate on immigration and politicians know it. Too much emotion is involved.

Our demographics mean we need a degree of immigration. How much and to cover what skills is open to debate, as are the costs and implications of reducing it by training more native Brits to cover shortages in certain professions.

Just warbling about it gets us nowhere. Under the Tories, 97% of immigrants arrived legally on visas. 3% were asylum seekers of whom roughly 70% were thought to be genuine when processed. (Much of the problem was caused by deliberate delays in processing.) These are the broad facts and you have to start from there when considering how to reduce these totals.

Has immigration ever had an adverse affect on your life in the UK? Has it stopped you pursuing a career and earning a livelihood? Are you forced to adhere to other faiths aside from your own? Are too many fish and chip shops being phased out in your locality for curry houses?

Note: I'm only inferring you have an issue with immigration and immigrants because of the tone of your post. If you don't, feel free to disregard those questions.

Reform where the 3rd biggest party by vote share at the last election.

That doesn’t mean they should get more coverage than a party that has 72 members of parliament though. For the electorate, they are far more important.
