Refugee crisis

Don't think that's what being said Pam....

The articles suggest that ISIS was going to create a situation that would create 500,000 genuine refugees, as apparently has happened. ISIS claim that amongs that 500,000 there would be a number of their militia who would pose as refugees/migrants to enable them to get into Europe.

The first part certainly is true, the second part....? Who knows?
Ah, understood. Misread it. The whole thing is sinister viewed in that light.

To suggest that there is no possibility of IS infiltrators within these multitudes is wishful thinking on speed.

ISIS are doing a fine job of recruiting from within and have much more efficient methods of moving people around without resorting to using leaky boats.

Well perhaps if someone would have a word with the enabling, bankrolling Saudi Arabians .....

The whole refugee crisis is a tragic situation, and our government's response so far has been disgraceful.
Governments should have been reacting to this 12 months or more ago ....... if you consider the degree to which European Governments have contributed to the causes then definitely so. For them all its been more convenient to kick it into the long grass - Cameron had an election coming up with the spectre of UKIP looming marge - Merkel didn't want to deal with it nor did Hollande - both had stuff with the Euro crisis going on - the poor Greeks have been left in a financial shit so could hardly be expected just to soak the refugees all up - pretty much the same with the Italians so all in all we end up where we are.

That child's photo was tragic but even more tragic is the unseen dead who have drowned and silently slipped beneath the waves in the Med whilst the crisis continues to unfold

Not sure which thread this should be in, inevitably there's a bit of overlap.

I think we're running out of excuses on here now not to allow them refuge. We've had excuses like; the costs, the NHS being at breaking point already, lack of housing, they won't be able to work, they're only 'economic migrants' and my 2 favourites, more traffic on the roads and full trains. Now we're back to terrorism, that's why a distinction should be made between Muslims and terrorists. Just because they're religious it doesn't mean they automatically share the same 'Jihadists' ideology, I will add it has been mentioned on here that a fair few will probably be followers of the Christian faith. Besides I'm sure the refugees feel more terrorised than most on here could even begin to comprehend.

I think the fact the west has offered some support for these refugees, may help us to combat the propaganda that is peddled against us. When they see we do care it may deter some from becoming radicalised.

I also think the attacks we've already witnessed in Europe over the last few years (Paris, etc.) would suggest there are a willing number of European citizens who are more than willing to volunteer to commit atrocities in the name of terrorism, without the need to pose as refugees. Even the 7/7 bombers were British citizens.

I'm not saying there won't be radicalised refugees as part of the influx, there may well be those who have been brainwashed into thinking we're all Devils but hopefully our compassion may challenge their views.

The world will be a better place when there is no borders, where people are free to roam to one piece of land to another - eventually all living together peacefully despite differences in race, gender and religion. We won't see it in our lifetime but that day will come - this is the start.

It's nice thought experiment but it would lead to mass famine for a start borders have always been there it's a human thing

It won't come easy if at all. Too much history, bad blood, greed etc.

Maybe when the oil has run out the intelligent part of the world will use a sort of Prime Directive or something. Like the people who film wildlife and don't intervene when something is killed. They might leave the psychopaths to it and let 'nature' take it's course.

It will come eventually as humans evolve, another 10,000 years maybe? Not sure why it would lead to famine, thought there was an argument that said we had plenty of food for everyone, but we were a bit shit at sharing it out
