Refugee crisis

I would have thought nearly everyone would be against that, good job that all the economic evidence collected shows that it doesn't really happen. Now that's cleared up back to the refugee crisis...
I stopped reading the newspapers years ago so not seen the evidence you refer to.

That boy was safe in Turkey and ended up dead on the beach.

The only shocking thing about this case is that his mother chose to risk his life in an unseaworthy boat to try to get from a safe country to a safe, more affluent one.
Ok your unsafe in Urmston. You have a young family and you really believe that your loved ones are in danger. The 50/50 risk the Mother or Father of making it to the European mainland with their children. What a cnut you are I would love to meet you, I bet you are are a right shitbag.

you're missing his point, he said they were safe in turkey... i dont know if that story is true, however if so Turkey i believe isnt such a bad place to live.

I am truly amazed anyone on here pretends to know that boy was safe or pretends to know anything about him. It staggers me that for political points anyone would comment factually on things none of us can know about.
I read your post and hope I am wrong as servers you right for being greedy - that's what you get. A mentality towards a poor dead kid and parents who have lost a child I can't even comprehend

The boy was in Bodrum, a Turkish holiday resort which is perfectly safe.

You can buy holidays there.

He could still be alive there now except that his mother chose to take him on an unseaworthy boat.

Now, if I was a refugee who had recently escaped the terror and possible death in Syria I'd be very happy to be in a safe country like Turkey even if life wasn't ideal.

I wouldn't risk my life, or my children's, on the open sea in a tiny boat just to try to reach another country which I'd prefer to live in.

If refugees in Calais drowned themselves trying to get to the UK I'd be of the same opinion.

A camp in Calais is not ideal, but it is safe.

The evidence is that migrants are net contributors to our economy, not a drain on it.
The evidence I saw in Calais a couple of Weeks ago was most of the migrants camped their would make absolutely no contribution to this country whatsoever, must be very alluring in Utopia.

You have zero idea of why they chose to leave.

why don't you choose to contribute to this thread instead or just f*ck off

Each to their own. Personally, I'm appalled by Cameron's hard line approach.

So am I. As long as he is seen to be tough on migrants, the disabled and the unemployed he will continue to get his votes from the I'm alright fuck you brigade.

Terrible tragedy unfolding before our eyes and we have to take responsibility for our actions which have been in part responsible for what we are now seeing.

By contribute you obviously mean make posts which are amenable to you.

Internet forums don't work like that.

If you can't stand what other people choose to contribute it's up to you to leave, or f*ck off as you prefer to say.

Bodrum is safe.

I'd be delighted to stay there in a tent if I'd just escaped death in Syria.

If you have recently escaped death and you are safe why risk your life in a tiny boat on the open sea?

Read the article I posted a few pages back. It tells the story of the family. Syrians get treated like shit in Turkey. The family were desperately trying to get to relatives in Canada but Turkish authorities do not issue exit visas. Also, if you've just fled your home country because IS are marrauding through it, would you really feel safe in a neighbouring coutry that shares a border? I know I wouldn't.

The family were fucking desperate, in ways people posting here (myself included) will never know, and yet utter cunts are trying to apportion blame on the parents. I presume they do so out of a subconscious urge to assuage any notions of responsibility or guilt. Either that or they're just useless, thick, selfish, attention-seeking, heartless, boring, inhumane, insecure cunts. It's probably the latter actually, going off their previous contributions.

its very sad indeed but i think Camerons hands are tied, taking more and more refuges when our NHS and other critical services are on there knees cant be the answer, this Island cant home them, hundreds of thousands of working familys are already using food banks in this country, i think the only way to help them is at the point of the problem 'the country of origin' Syria or Iraq i think its time United Nations went in and the troops went in to dispose of ISIS, there would be outcries from every corner of the UK if that happened from the anti war brigade but i think its the only way
Ah, so its the fault of the `anti-war brigade`!!!!!!! The mind boggles.

You cannot discriminate against the Mother. You do not know what her situation is or why she chose to risk her children and her own life..

If you have recently escaped death in Syria, you get as far away as possible. You find relatives on the far side of the planet and do everything you can to make sure your family gets there. Simples.

What is shocking about some people who get into rickety old boats to cross a large sea getting drowned?

It is what anyone would expect to happen, hardly a shock.

I'm satisfied with Cameron's hard line approach.
Whats shocking, are the conditions people find themselves in, to go to these lengths to escape from their homeland.

Sums urmston up on this thread to a tee. I'm sure though he will just skip this and post more unsympathetic bollo*ks further down the line

i dont believe they are any of the above, and i'm sure as most human beings are horrified at what has happened to that poor kid. But they just have a different view to you on the whole refugee crisis and how Britain should deal with it. I can't for one ever imagine what it must be like living in a country that is being ravaged by IS, however i think more has to be done by the world (not just us) to make their own country safe and a place to thrive.
