Relaxation of FFP rules due to Covid-19

The fact is you only compete because Klopp's broken transfer records, spent hundreds of millions of pounds to fix his squad's weaknesses coupled with a couple of undervalue purchases from your owner's mates at Roma.

It's not down to any magic, you've hired a good manager, spent a fortune and won the league when the incumbents had an off year.

You've just followed the model and combined it with Ferguson tactics and a dose of favours to ensure the success.

Nothing remarkable in the slightest, and much less exciting and entertaining than the trail blazers whose model you copied.

Nice of you to be our tribute act though.

All true, but what is also true, is City have failed to fix defensive frailties that needed done and are now needing to respond. Liverpool's defensive Achilles heel has been fixed. It's time City sorted theirs. This season has been a wake up call. Next will be the test. Here's hoping you sort out what is long overdue. If you dont then the dominance you enjoyed could be over.

So you spending over a billion in the last decade which dwarfs all other transfer activity has had nothing to do with you being successful? Of course you need more than just money, but you seem pretty set on this angle. I can only imagine what the money men are thinking when you’ve spent nearly four times as much as we have in that time and a team that spent far less oversaw a fifty point swing at the top of the table. Don’t know why you want to argue such a fatuous point, but I’ve just realised who I’m replying to which makes sense and as such I’ll leave it there.

Look, you're cross because you like to think you're special and, somehow morally superior, we get it. There's nothing to be ashamed of in spending record amounts to win titles. You did it, united did it, Chelsea did it, we did it and now you've done it again.

Enjoy your win. It all starts again all too soon.

You were awarded a soft penalty away to Spurs. Score that and you lead nil away from home in the first leg, you would have cruised through.

Your correct , i was astonished when we were awarded that penalty , we never get them in the Champs league , but it soon evened up when you centre forward punched your winning goal in the net , which was a real shame , because we wouldnt have let Liverpool walk all over us in the final.

Liverpool spent a similar amount over thirteen years , and one FA Cup win , so your are correct money certainly doesnt guarantee success , LFC are the perfect example.

What does amuse me is the amount of Dippers appearing on here , where have you been for fifteen years ? Under a rock ? Just heard from an old friend apparently he is still mad loyal fan of the "mighty reds" (his words)who never misses a game on the telly , along with 99% of your fans , he wanted to know if the new Ford Sierra i sold him is still under warranty.

You've spent well over a billion since you last won the league, so don't pontificate. Your owners tried to play their own strategy of moneyball and it failed abysmally, so you copied our strategy of hiring the best manager you could and spending heavily in your weakest areas. You're nothing more than a tribute act, and like every tribute act you try so desperately through every outlet possible to spam the world to claim you're as good if not somehow better because of the "experience", when everyone knows you're not as good, you're just a pale imitation who uses every trick and edit possible to try and make it seem so. Tribute acts might need sound studios to create the effect, you needed the VAR studio. And like with the former, you can dress it up however much you want it always leaves people feeling "it's good, but it's false" and leaves everyone else yearning for the real thing.

You’re right there to an extent. A lot of teams have spent similar amounts in the period. But only two have a net figure of over a billion. The rest fall away pretty quickly in terms of numbers. And that’s why net spend is so important in transfer talk, it shows how well a squad is financially managed. Whether the debt is perfectly serviceable is irrelevant, the fact is that it’s better for business if your net spend is lower rather than higher. But as I’ve said on here before, it’s horses for courses, different clubs do different things. No necessary right or wrong way.

Well in the last fifteen years, I’ve seen two FA Cup wins, 2 Champions Leagues wins and a League Cup. Plus another two Champions League finals and others. Of course I’ve lived in decades where we’ve been more successful, but the last fifteen years have certainly had some sweet moments. I’m sure you have had some too.
