When's the last time a team needed the mythical 40 pts to survive? It's been a while, I'd guess. Normally, the mid 30s would be enough. Didn’t WHU once go down with 42 pts?

Just checked; since the Premier League was reduced to 20 teams back in 1995, only three of the intervening seasons have seen 40 points plus needed to survive, and not since 2010.
