Replacements for Cook?

I don't want a public speaker, I want someone who knows about marketing and has contacts around the world... I can't see Intel and Cisco asking someone to sit on their boards if that person didn't know at least a little about running a multi-national. Even if she's not very good at that high level, she'd still be better than pretty much any football CEO.

I think the club could use this as another platform to demonstrate their ambition.

On that basis suggestions like Peter Kenyon are, frankly, laughable.

I believe it could very well be an appointment from outside the world of football and quite possibly from a large US corporate background.

Why does it have to be a football-related person? Cook wasn't, he was brought in to grow the brand. If we want to market ourselves successfully overseas one of the major keys to growth is the internet. Why not bring in someone like Carol Bartz who recently left her post as CEO of Yahoo? Yes, it's a hefty increase in salary but up until Yahoo, which to be honest nobody is going to save, she has an extremely good record and she has media contacts the world over.

I agree that it should be a non football person. But Carol Bartz is atrocious.

Phil Anderton, does he seem ideal? At first glance, him being the chief executive at Mansour's UAE side sounds very unimpressive but then it says he was "the global brand ambassador for Coca-Cola and has held various executive positions in sport, including the Scottish Rugby Union and the ATP World Tennis Tour"... sounds impressive.

He was the CEO at Hearts wasn't he before the owner fired him?

Who has the Hearts owner not fired???

Possible candidate emerges:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.thenational.ae/sport/football/cook-exit-opens-door-for-jazira-ceo-at-manchester-city" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.thenational.ae/sport/footbal ... ester-city</a>

Reputable source too.

The National is an Abu Dhabi paper and usually well connected..Didn´t know he used to be CEO of Hearts though.

A pity we couldn't clone a mixture of Kenyon and Dein, both have differant qualities.

One thing is for sure if Kenyon was in post then people like Kia would know their place from day one.

He's ruthless when it comes to business and maybe what we need at the moment?

Kenyon has been head Honcho at MUFC & CFC, so knows his way around the corridors of power at both the FA & UEFA..

He is exactly what we need now... somebody who will stand up for MCFC, will not be walked over and can deal effectively with the press.

That may be the case but, Kenyon would be ridiculed in the press if not more than Cook. City need someone new for a fresh start. Someone who can oversee the club as well as bolster the commercial activitiy. Kenyon is only able to fulfil the first requirement.

Got to be in the running, alongside Vicky Kloss (though I think she is weak with the press). Anybody think they will 'poach' from another club?

I'd be okay with David Dean or Peter Kenyon, both know the ins and outs of EUFA and the FA and have been around the European block so many times that either would be acceptable.
