Phil Anderton, does he seem ideal? At first glance, him being the chief executive at Mansour's UAE side sounds very unimpressive but then it says he was "the global brand ambassador for Coca-Cola and has held various executive positions in sport, including the Scottish Rugby Union and the ATP World Tennis Tour"... sounds impressive.

and he's still only 37....ffs, this guys is worse at corporate loyalty than me ;/

And headhunted for Al-Jazira FC by Cook and Simon Pearce..Who was impressed by him.

I have said this before but it's worth saying again. Cook was a great marketing man he did that side of the job at city exceptionally well our profile, sponsorship deals etc are on a different planet compared to before he arrived.

He was not a figure head or any good at all at the operational level the actual mechanics of running the club and handling pr. At times it really was planet of the apes in this respect. As much as many of us liked his bull in the china shop mentality, really he had taken the club as far as he was capable anyway.

We actually had the best chairmen in the league. So good and so respected in the game he's now running the fa.

I would say Williams as a stop gap the next best thing to Bernstein is David dein if he would be interested that's another matter he's an arsenal man really. Whilst we are cleaning shop marwood needs to go as well not convinced by him at all he was cooks man if cooks gone he has to go as well I would think.

Both Dein and Bernstein are 68. David Bernstein is a man I hold in the highest regard but he wouldn't be the right man to be CEO. He is ideal for chairman or senior non-exec. I don't know Dein but would imagine the same applies to him.

I'll be Prestwich's Chief Advisor.

I can give him advice and he can do the opposite. ;) It will be doomed to failure until I hack into his email and call Khaldoon an arse. I can then take over the job and the world, I mean job will be mine.
Bizarrely your name was first out of the hat when I was mentally putting together my team. And for Chief of Staff as well.

I need someone who would make me look so much better.

Didsbury Dave will of course be Director of Football.

Hold on here i started this movement i want a place on the board, i will be chief of talking shit.
If you were paid by the word you'd bankrupt Sheikh Mansour. I was going to offer you chauffeur/bodyguard/general gofer.

Cook has done some very good work on the marketing and operations side, but we do need a CEO with different skills now. One of the main attributes that people like Bernstein or Dein could bring is that they are well respected within the game. And, like it or not, we really do not need to establish a relationship with Platini & Co. Otherwise they'll just keep changing the rules to exclude us.

When a CEO leaves an organisation under a could its always worth the new guy checking to make sure that there aren't any other skeletons in the cupboard. In particular I think the new guy needs to check that we really do have credible plans to comply with FFPR. We've been told by Cook that we do, but there again he said he didnt send the e-mail.

I wouldnt get rid of Marwood just because he's associated with Cook. Looking from the outside he appears to have done some good work. He might actually do better withot Cook being involved. Interestingly it was claimed in one of the papers today that Mancini is thought to look forward to a better working relationship with Marwood now that Cook has gone.

According to the Evening News the following are believed to be out of the running now:

- David Dein
- Peter Kenyon
- David Potts
- Phil Anderton
- John Williams
- Brian Marwood

Those are basically the only names besides Marco Branca (a rumour that has no legs IMO) that have been mentioned. MEN says:

“It will take as long as necessary to get the right person,” was the only comment City are prepared to make on their search for Cook’s replacement.

But M.E.N. Sport understands that the Abu Dhabi owners are using their own football and business contacts to look at potential candidates, and are expected to employ a discreet head-hunting company to add to that list.

-

Both appear unlikely, as City are looking for someone more grounded in global business than in football business.

With the huge developments around the Etihad Stadium at the planning stage, and the club seeking to extend its worldwide appeal and open up new revenue streams, the person who comes in is more likely to have a vibrant business and man-management background.
