Replacements for Cook?

It has to be someone with worldwide marketing knowledge, excellent media contacts and from a sports background.
I've a feeling the position will be filled by an American, someone who's worked in American Football or Baseball

Platini? Loves English football and would relish building us up into real contenders

I said this in another thread but; there's a whole world of sport outside football, some involve more money, so the man doesn't have to have a football background. Just make sure he has a sports club CEO background which Cook didn't!

Why does it have to be a football-related person? Cook wasn't, he was brought in to grow the brand. If we want to market ourselves successfully overseas one of the major keys to growth is the internet. Why not bring in someone like Carol Bartz who recently left her post as CEO of Yahoo? Yes, it's a hefty increase in salary but up until Yahoo, which to be honest nobody is going to save, she has an extremely good record and she has media contacts the world over.

I like your thinking. I'd rather have someone from outside the football world to be honest. Fresh scope and vision, drive to succeed in a new industry. Bit like a Cook but for a global age for Manchester City.

Would you really consider Cook's background in selling shoes to be sports just because that's what the people who marketed them for him did? I'm not so sure a CEO necessarily needs to be all that clued up on the industry they are working on as long as they have people around them who are.

Or the NBA. Their sports deal with more money than football does. Apart from the Rags, the other most lucrative and profitable sporting clubs in the world are Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots and Los Angeles Lakers. Who runs these ships?

I meant to say that it better hadn't be Kenyon. His record of trying to balance the books at Chelsea has been disasterous
