Results went our way in the "Carabao" tonight....

Yes we did, but, this isn't really an argument - if you'd rather Chelsea and Liverpool had lost last night, that's absolutely fine - I'm not a keyboard warrior looking for a fight.
The OP was very simple. Our opponents this time have the fixture congestion problem. The fact that we coped with it over 4 years doesn't mean that they will, but, moreover, would you rather they played more or less games with all the potential for cancellations - scousers next game is now off on boxing day - and Afcon to come, with more covid about, at least for the forseeable? That was my point. I'd rather they didn't win anything but they're good teams and they probably will win something or other this season, but, their fixture congestion is our friend.
Will they cope? We'll see.
I'm pretty sure they won't. Imo people citing Man City as example for success are mistaken. We are the only club in world football with two world class teams (Klopp just said that himself). Even Bayern Munich would struggle playing 4 competitions. Coupled with matches being postponed for Covid, Scousers will soon find themselves playing two matches (even 3) per week non stop late in the season, that is too brutal even for us.

A brutal fixture list? You are imagining things. For a start they will play a 2nd string in the League club and they might even get to change the rules in the League Cup because that's what happens if you're Liverpool or Man Utd.

I expect Arsenal will beat Liverpool. IMO Arsenal are going to finish top 4 this season, and might even finish 3rd. They are beginning to believe in themselves now.

Why does the Media give airtime to those calling for the abolition of the EFL Cup? This includes Ragnick, who then went on to ask for five substitutes to be allowed in the PL ‘to give more time for young players’!

No team is being forced to play their strongest eleven in the EFL Cup. Wenger always played a second string team at least up to the final, as does Klopp.

It is not within the remit of the PL to abolish the EFL Cup as they do not organise it. It provides opportunities for fringe players and youngsters to get game time. The EFL Cup would be fine if they binned the two-legged semi-finals.

Those managers who moan about it can simply put out an EDS or reserve team.
