Won’t they miss the Chelsea game as well ?

Manchester City vs Chelsea, 15 January
Southampton vs Manchester City, 22 January
TBC (FA Cup fourth round), 29-30 January

scousers with no salad and mane

Shrewsbury Town vs Liverpool (FA Cup third round), 8-9 January
Liverpool vs Brentford, 15 January
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool, 22 January
TBC (FA Cup fourth round), 29-30 January

The point is, would you rather have them play more or less games. It's no brainer for me. The fact that we did well enough over 4 years in it is immaterial to the argument.
I thinks it’s very pertinent to the argument. Didn’t that mean we played more games than our rivals?

Arsenal will shit the nest so they will have a cup final to contend with.
Good luck to the gooners. Arteta is building a really young talented team. I think they could win this one and compete well for top 4.

National federations can insist on players being with the squad 13 days before a tournament which would mean before the new year PL fixtures (including Chelsea v Liverpool).
PL clubs are in negotiations to try to keep players until after those games and are supposedly ‘hopeful’ they will be successful with their requests but no confirmation either way just yet.

The scousers also have the Carabao SF plus there’s a chance that their game against Leeds (now called off on Boxing Day) will be rescheduled for mid January during the midweek when FA Cup third round replays would have been played before the decision was taken to scrap them.

footy and fans are so funny
i remember only a few months ago
arse fans begging for him to be sacked and people i worked with
laughing at how bad arsenal were
a few good results and hey presto

Apologies if this has been mentioned earlier in the thread and I've missed it but the semi-final draw has potentially decent consequences for us. Arsenal play Liverpool and they're scheduled to meet in the PL on the weekend of the final. So whether or not they actually get to Wembley, the scousers have another league game that they'll need to find a new date for.

Yes we did, but, this isn't really an argument - if you'd rather Chelsea and Liverpool had lost last night, that's absolutely fine - I'm not a keyboard warrior looking for a fight.
The OP was very simple. Our opponents this time have the fixture congestion problem. The fact that we coped with it over 4 years doesn't mean that they will, but, moreover, would you rather they played more or less games with all the potential for cancellations - scousers next game is now off on boxing day - and Afcon to come, with more covid about, at least for the forseeable? That was my point. I'd rather they didn't win anything but they're good teams and they probably will win something or other this season, but, their fixture congestion is our friend.
Will they cope? We'll see.
