F**k Johnson, f**k Hancock,f**k tier three. As far as I am concerned Lancashire is everything from the Mersey to the Duddon, the whole county should be in tier two not just Liverpool. I can neither watch City or Fleetwood Town and I am bloody fed up. Would say I will never vote conservative, but I will never vote Tory while theirs a hole in my a**e anyway. Could cope if I could see an end to it, instead have become a bitter old man writing shit on here.

It’s not just about infection rates, look at the hospital admission figures for Greater Manchester.

GM hospitals are struggling to operate they’re so busy with covid patients.

One quote from the article;

"We are not doing enough to articulate the crisis going on in our hospitals and the situation is Greater Manchester is extremely fragile. Covid is really exposing a system that was already on the edge. It's not possible to say that pressure on the NHS has gone down here just because the infection rate has."

I agree mate on the range of indicators being used to measure Tier “readiness” mate. I am content to be in Tier 3 for the time being especially when we need to balance the likely impact of the Covid relaxation.

That said, there’s clearly been a lack of transparency in relation to assessment of Tiers and the more visible indicators have played second fiddle more discretionary ones in the case of Greater Manchester. Also, until recently Liverpool University Hospitals had the higher number of Covid patients in the Country and were treating more Covid patients than the peak of Wave 1.

It’s hard to tell the facts from the propaganda and both Andy Burnham and the Government have tried to bend stats to suit their argument. For example, Burnham was saying bed occupancy in Greater Manchester was just over 80% (a couple of months back) when some ICUs were full and he was probably including the under utilised Nightingake in his denominator. He also took no account of staff sickness rates that are pivotal to care capacity.

The sum total is that football fans are allowed in grounds in Liverpool but not Manchester and the case for this is very unclear. I didn’t apply for the Boxing Day game so
It’s not really impacted on me directly but the lack of transparency will leave some Blues feeling they have the victims of politically motivated decisions.

Yeah good points.

I didn’t go into the ballot for Newcastle neither. I think it’s a bad idea. I just think we should be doing as little as possible until we have enough immunity across the nation to open things that aren’t essential like football crowds back up.

Andy Burnham has fucked the government off, that's why they have no intention of putting Manchester in tier 2, the wankers.
The criteria for tiers is published and unfortunately Greater Manchester didn't meet Tier2. Do you really think that the Government, with all the additional costs, are doing this to spite a clown like Burnham? The really issue, as a whole, is the population cant follow the rules, the virus will only spread by people mixing and not self-isolating when they have it.

Northern Ireland is now heading into a 6 week strict lockdown - close to back in March - from Boxing day to early Feb...England is next.

Our hospitals our struggling a bit here and we have some very high rates in rural areas - 500+ per 100k

Think we'll all be back in a lockdown before the end of December, so seems better for pubs etc not to open up for a few days and have to shut down again. They would lose a lot more money doing that.

Envious of Liverpool fans being allowed in for the time being, but to be frank, there are bigger inequalities and issues of unfairness in the league, think people need some perspective. Liverpool having fans is not the reason we lie in mid table.

Hopefully we can get back in grounds towards the end of January or early Feb.

The Country is run by journalists and politicians. They are capable of more than you think , just like Starmer and co are.
Looking at the criteria won’t tell you why Manchester is in Tier 3. It may well be for the best
