Return of Supporters

All the signs ahead of tomorrow's announcement is for sports stadiums to be near the end of the queue along with pubs and clubs which will not be open till May by the looks of things. Very slow return in spite of speed of vaccinations. Schools, then shops, then restaurants and pubs by May or June. Based on Tiers and restrictions linked to them.

Yet Government want to hold all the Euros games of they're on offer, with small crowds but only based on rapid testing. No suggestion of only those vaccinated being able to go, which is good given many will not have both doses till the autumn.
I'd settle for being able to attend some sort of victory parade late May hopefully safe enough by then...we'll not have cheered our boys on in person but we'll still be a part of it in person.

Those with jabs can still carry the virus, right? They're immune to symptoms but can still host the virus. My immunology understanding may be rusty though. So, beware anyone bringing you a matchday half and half scarf more than ever...

Would that be the half and half scarf with 'vaccinated' and 'not vaccinated'...?

Cant see how they will open up the travelling en masse eg to Wembley. Can see home games opening up if all goes well but maybe not this season
Won't happen - It's the media pissing in the wind as usual, trying to fill pages. They're talking about 4k 'fans' attending Euro matches (if held in UK), it'd be the same number for a cup final at Wembley. If it happens, do you honestly think that the 4k lucky 'fans' would be genuine fans?

There was talk some time ago about giving tickets for games to reward NHS/essential workers etc... That's the most likely scenario imo. Lets face it... If they leave it up to the club to select 2k fans to attend, it will probably be made up of staff, ex-players, Noel Gallagher, Tunnel Club members and very carefully selected Citizens competition winners.

I don't care how long it takes - Fans shouldn't be allowed in unless the whole stadium can be used. One in, all in.

The obvious answer, and I’d be amazed if it hits the target, is that the vaccine will only be 90% effective, meaning a good few mill will still be carriers!
It's a virus, meaning it's not going away. It's about risk mitigation.
Vaccinate, crack on, vaccinate, rinse repeat.
We need to get our heads up and accept it.
We are fortunate that it's mortality rate is low.

Pubs with beer gardens could be allowed to open before Easter I've heard tonight.

Saying 29 March

A lot of this stuff we are 'hearing' can be traced back to those with vested interests rather than govt policy. Like last year I don't think the lock down will actually end - first sunny bank holiday weekend and every **** will just fuck it off.

Mate of mine runs a boozer and told me Easter way back in Jan, thought Christ surely it wont be that long. Amazing guess if hes right.
Things will open up quickly I think, including football.
The country had fooked finances before this pandemic so even the economy gets opened up or we have 4 Million unemployed.
End of March will look a lot different to today although I expect some doom and gloom tomoz to temper expectation.
