Return of Supporters

Sat there in the pissing cold with a plastic glass paying silly prices, leave me out of this one.

Probably would have warmed up a little by then, like it has this last week or so,and I'm sure there will be shelters to keep your hair dry, however if you still not interested then that's fine, but like me I bet there are thousands who can't wait for a draught pint, and the year they have had, having one less customer like you won't affect the economy anymore.

A lot of this stuff we are 'hearing' can be traced back to those with vested interests rather than govt policy. Like last year I don't think the lock down will actually end - first sunny bank holiday weekend and every **** will just fuck it off.

We shall see what's said at 7pm,the vested interest has well passed mate,it's more of trying to get a glimmer of hope of normality what's being craved.

Will be interesting to see how a nation that's used to 50p a can gets used to £5 a pint again.

I wonder how big your average British beer garden is? I suppose those with the room will take full advantage of it but hardly any city centre boozers will be worth opening & many where I live, if social distancing is still in play, you can only get a maximum of 10 in the garden.
I can't see many opening if this is the case. Shame as like you & many others, I'm gagging for a decent pint, in a glass and moaning about anything just like we were doing this time last year.

It's a virus, meaning it's not going away. It's about risk mitigation.
Vaccinate, crack on, vaccinate, rinse repeat.
We need to get our heads up and accept it.
We are fortunate that it's mortality rate is low.
Exactly this, we have to learn to with it so it will be staged return to normality. Speed will be dependent on how much protection the vaccines provides us and that’s difficult to predict with the speed the bloody thing evolves.

A huge amount of brewers and pub co's (including my missus's lot, Heineken) are saying they simply will not be reopening for outside only. The limited numbers, plus staff costs, utility costs, loss of rent freezes and furlough payments lost, will just not add up to being worth their while.
For some wet led, that will still apply to when it's once again inside, but with limited numbers. Barely broke even last time round.

i think sport could cope with 10-20% capacity today and have little affect on the rates; but the biggest issue is travel.

Asking cities and local transport to cope with 5/10/15k people on buses, trains and trams is a big risk currently.

However, with the vaccine data looking positive and everyone in the UK maybe having 2 jabs in 2021 - im hopeful for 2nd half of the season to have a large volume of fans back.
