Return of Supporters

October is looking ever and ever slimmer, to be honest. Manchester looks like a bit of a mess right now and that's before 100k students arrive in the next few weeks. If I can get to a game in the spring then that will do me. Does anyone know what the deal is with non-league and/or City women? I really am missing live sport.

Non league has been allowed limited spectators since Aug 22nd at below conference north/south level. FA cup games this weekend allowing spectators

As expected, it looks like fans won't be back in October after all.

Unlikely before New Year from what Chris Whitty was saying. Sounds like they're relying on mass testing to identify who isn't infectious and can therefore be allowed in.

He also said winter is going to be difficult ,from now till spring, i can't see fans in till then

Football is nothing without the fans. Champions League, trophies etc are meaningful for a while because the army of fans are still their in the background.

This sounds bad, but a part of me was relieved Lyon knocked us out. Lifting the CL trophy, what should be a landmark day for the club, in an empty stadium, would have been soulless, and really taken the shine off a major achievement. Pep and the players deserve better. Football is about people, and sharing those moments, imagine Aguero, Dickov, or Kompany scoring those iconic goals in an empty stadium?

said in the press conference it is being reassessed.

Will no doubt be stopped.
From what has been confirmed to league secretaries some test events will still happen in Sept but with further reduced capacities (1000 max mentioned)

No pilots in areas of concern.

Following that through to a conclusion, we will have a scenario where clubs in some areas have crowds and others not. Have the Premier League ruled that out or is it on the table? This will become the asterix of all asterix seasons.

I wouldn't have an issue with that personally, it's happened in leagues in Australia - where some regions were able to have crowds (25% capacity etc) back earlier.
