Return of Supporters

First thing I did when I was told about the website post was checking my email but no. Nothing from the club to season ticket holders it seems. Careful though, don't want to be heard moaning

Make sure your email details is up to date and make sure you don’t tick anything that says you do not want emails! The emails are automated to All Season ticket supporters, so be at your end why you didn’t get an email from city.

Whichever decision is made by the club. There is an absolute certainty that it will leave some supporters very unhappy. With only around 20,000 fans being allowed in and around 35,000 plus season ticket holders. There is a certainty that some fans will be left disappointed.

I have been going to watch City since the 1967/8 season. Then the following season I have been a ticket holder. So are you telling me that after watching City since then I am not allowed to go to watch them just because I might catch the virus.

Season ticket holders should take priority over those from both the tunnel club and those of the 93. 20 section. I know the club needs the money. Loyalty should matter over those who have the money.

Should the club go down the road off giving tickets to those that have the money, they could lose a lot of supporters for good. After all if the club needs to look after the season ticket holders who have remained loyal, especially those who remained loyal during the bad times.

This can easily be done by checking how long they have been season ticket holders. Anyone who has been a season ticket holder over 30yrs should have a priority over tho as that don't have that long.

Hospitality areas will have to follow the same rules as everyone else re social distancing.

Indeed but will the corporate areas suddenly increase with fans being told they have missed out so cant go whilst someone else is sat in their seat and is paying a bit more?

Apologies for my scepticism here, it isn't aimed at you are anyone else personally but im very much in the if its safe to watch then everyone can go camp. If its not, so be it, stadiums stay empty.

This will do nothing other than piss people off and alienate many imo.

To anyone who says that those over 50yrs old shouldn't be allowed to attend, to keep the spread of the Covid19 virus. Let's look at where the problem lies, it is those aged between 18yrs to 30yrs. It is this age group that is not obey the government guide lines. So why should those over 50yrs old be the ones that have promised out from going to watch the game's.

If those that are successful in the first ballot are excluded from the second, and so on - I could live with that.

if 20k are allowed for say 15 PL matches that would be 300k in total. So about 8 or 9 matches per season ticket holder.

Would that mean fewer people applying for crap games so they aren't excluded from better games? Not sure that's too appealing. Suspect it'll be a random ballot. Would have been good to have this information rather than piecemeal guesswork once again.

Yeah. Game before the Derby would be empty

There's no equivalent to Cityzens Matchday Members in hospitality to the best of my knowledge. You've either got a season card in Legends, Tunnel Club etc or you buy on a match by match basis. As far as I'm aware, only existing seasonal hospitality members will be allowed to access the areas they hold tickets for, so the club won't be selling matchday hospitality packages.

To answer another question, as far as I'm aware at the moment, general admission areas will be the same mix as they would be on a normal matchday, which is (in home areas) around 80% seasoncard holders, the majority of the rest being Cityzens members with a small percentage of staff/Supporters Club seats. Before anyone starts whingeing, those OSC seats are usually used for foreign fans who travel to games in groups, such as my sons' mates in the Phoenix branch who were all planning on coming over to the Norwich game. I doubt very many at all, if any, will be doing that this coming season.

The mechanics of the ballot were the least urgent thing we had to discuss but with pretty well everything else sorted out regarding ticketing, we'll be starting to talk about that in detail. We've asked for some sort of weighting based on points if that's at all possible. That might well be based on a number of tickets going into a pot exclusively for those with higher points. A lot will depend on how many apply for tickets for each game obviously. No idea currently how we're going to deal with groups and we're also hoping there will be some ability for choosing seats, subject to distancing rules and availability.

We're also asking the club to provide a number of opportunities to return tickets you've got in the ballot, both at the time they're allocated and closer to a game (say up to 72 hours). Can't guarantee we'll get all or even any of these of course as it all depends on what the club feel is doable.

No corporate areas are not increasing.

Unsure if we are being made to go in ballot yet but assume so as also being told social distancing will have to be adhered and all areas have been modified, so doubt everyone will be able to attend at once. Although I suppose this could come down to how many are actual seasonal hospitality members? I know they have a lot of one off tickets in the hospitality sections so will be interesting to see if these resume straight away.

On another note had an email late yesterday saying that they will not be asking me renew for the 20/21 season? They took full payment for next season from me in the middle of the pandemic (after everyone else was told they were getting refunds for the previous campaign) and told me it was because I’m contracted and on an 18 month contract. I had no issue with them taking payment as touch wood haven’t been financially affected so far but I’ll be interested to see what they do with my situation.

I am assuming that there will be stewarding to stop you moving from one seat to another? e.g. you are allocated seat 300 in row H and you notice that seat 321 (the aisle seat) is available but not occupied although the aisle seat on the other side is occupied but the aisle is wide. If you then move to that seat as an aisle seat has more leg room would a steward either move you back or evict you?
(All seat numbers are random to protect the innocent!)

Thanks for the info mate, it's appreciated.

I'm in 93.20 and have been going for nigh on 30 years but I shouldn't take priority over other Seasoncard holders?
I actually am in no rush to go back personally but not sure why your lumping tunnel club and 93.20 together cos there a million miles apart in terms of cost and benefits.
I assume your aware that the benefits of 93.20 are limited to a padded seat and a match programme?

I can't see there being any demand for corporate this season. The whole point is taking a client out to impress you can't do that with social distancing and all the sanitised measures that will be in place.
I suspect the bulk of people this season who want to attend games will be able to.
Seems there are a high number looking to write this season off in terms of attendance be it for health reasons or the watered down product so I think there will be enough tickets to meet demand for those Seasoncard holders who wish to attend

Perhaps the club should consider using some corporate space for regular fans if not fully sold. Without all the freebies of course but at least using the seats in front of boxes etc to space people out and get a few more in?

I can't see that many clients will want to be entertained at a football match while all this Covid19 virus is going around. If the club does this it could well leave a lot of Man City fans very angry. Both my sister and myself plus who knows how many more
fans angry.

As long as it’s done fair, if there was 15k in the ballot I would expect any season ticket holder who wanted a ticket would get one. I don’t know if I’m in the minority but I manage 3 season cards and we are all in agreement that we are just going to defer and wait until things are back to normal.

Think the club will be open to criticism whatever they do. They are far from from perfect and don't get everything right but I for one think they appear to have handled this unforseen and difficult situation better than most of their peers in terms of refunds, suspensions, amnesties, ballots etc. But some people with certain specific circumstances may fall between the cracks of these arrangements and there are also some people who will never be happy whatever they do

All sensible in the circumstances.

I imagine it’ll end up being a weighted ballot to account firstly for points, and then readjusted as the season goes along, with those who’ve been lucky enough to get tickets, to previous matches, having a slightly lower chance of getting more tickets, assuming demand is high enough of course.

It’d give everyone, who wants to, a decent chance of getting to a game. There’d still be those that whinge that “I’ve never missed a game so why should I miss out so that 5 match a season Phil can go?”.

That’s just always going to be the case.
