Return of Supporters

Yes, I'm sure if they put cheap healthy salads on sale we'd be queinng round the block for them. He said health as in safety don't think he meant general dietry concerns.
Health he said- obesity is a massive health concern and there is a lot off middle ground between salad and what is available. Maybe grilled chicken for example, which is very popular these days.

Bloody hell Corky. When did you turn into the bastard offspring of Joe Wicks & Jamie Oliver?

Look at the ones at spurs , there is supposed to be rules but they are not sticking to them ,shouldnt have any until all clubs can and much more spread out ,although small in number it will give the players a lift to know they are there and will hear them singing , now we go to anfield disadvantaged

Good to hear they are letting away fans in though.

:-) :-( ...I know but he is a great neighbour. He and his wife are both SC holders! However on the first day of lockdown they were the first people (apart from family) to contact me to offer help. They put a lovely note through my door. They are young and I am trying to re-educate them! He came to collect a parcel I had taken in and he did wish us luck for the match. :-)
Let me know where to bring the dog

Jesus. All you do is fucking moan and try to create a mountain out of a molehill. Give it a rest pal.

The club sent out a survey a while back asking people whether they'd be happy to return. The problem is that no one understood back then, including the club, what the full impact of the current situation would be. Now it's clearer but there's still a lot of discussion and planning to be done.
That must be the politest thing Tommy ever said
Now, in the words of Tommy Muir, "do one" you attention seeking troll.

If it kicked off about it elsewhere, which wouldn't suprise me, and it's been binned off, apologies. But cannot see any references nor reactions to the behaviour of the returning Millwall fans yesterday on here?

Can’t wait to go back. Will try and be one of the first 2000, in fact have emailed the club but if I am not I will keep trying until I am back every week. Some right moaning bastads. Club have been great - phoned my old man a few times and been absolutely up front. More importantly made use of the Etihad to help in this crisis and kept up the great community work. I suggest the moaning bastads just give it up.

Clear evidence this weekend that 2,000 or not it is an advantage having fans present than not.

it should not have been allowed in my opinion for fans to be in attendance at some games and not others. It has to be all or nothing.

unfair advantage to home teams.

Ha, yeah that’s a pretty accurate summation tbf.

Don't agree with some fans allowed in some grounds but not others depending on which tier applies.

2000 fans will have made a difference and given a definite extra home advantage, although it would be difficult to quantify by exactly how much.

What if the reintroduction of fans goes well and the Govt then decides to allow 10k _15k in Premier League grounds in tier 2 but still keeps a limit of say 2k - 4k in tier 3??

Good point and it will surely happen this way too. We aren't going to go from 2,000 to 50,000 in one go and some areas might have different Covid circumstances. There should be some kind of national agreement about numbers to keep it fair.

On a separate point I hope City have looked at the return of football and seen what works and what hasn't. I thought packing SPurs and Chelsea fans into a relatively small space in huge stadiums was poor. I've got elderly people in my support bubble and there's no way I could go to a game, sit in a 1/4 full block for 2 hours singing and then go an see them. Someone standing 5 m behind me but shouting incessantly is eventually going to enshroud me in an aerosol and no mask is going to prevent me inhaling that or getting in my eyes during 2 hours exposure. I do hope these absurd thoughts are going to become quickly irrelevant. Almost certainly though it's going to take until at least March before we can begin to have proper crowds at the football. Predictably Chelsea made a mess of it.

But to space them out down the side of the ground would of meant taking the advertising off the seats tbf

Looks like fans could be back for the Newcastle game boxing day if we move in to tier 2 after the next briefing on December 16th, E tickets and bottom tiers in the East,South and North Stand for the 2,000 supporters.

On our local news tonight, they showed a couple of stadiums with fans in, Portsmouth, they seemed to be spread across the stadium (sensible), but at Reading all in one stand and the "distancing" looked shite to me. Oxford had people in different stands, but only small areas of those stands, so distancing again compromised.

Clubs trying to keep the extra cost down (less stewarding) ? If so it's not very clever.
