Return of Supporters

Just had a proper look 8pm KO on boxing day, doesn't realy enthuse me to enter the ballot think I will give it a miss

Don't know if we are a typical cross section, but been speaking to my regular circle of match going fans and for a variety of reasons 13 /13 have no interest in applying for the Newcastle game and little to no intrest in returning this season,

I'm watching Everton v Chelsea and the fact that 2000 supporters are in the stadium completely changes the dynamics. It is completely different to watching games with no spectators. It will be a case of small steps but I can't wait for our supporters to get back, even 2000. I'm not in the 'all back or none back' camp.

Same here. Freezing cold, game finishing just before 10, Newcastle putting 11 behind the ball, Bruce moaning about how much money we have spent and VAR sucking the blood out of the game, think I will give it a miss

Realistically why would you. City with the best of intentions have put in the condition once you have been, your not going to get a ticket to everyone else, who entered the ballot, has. it will prove counter-productive as no one is going to apply for matches, such as these, knowing it’s going to prevent access to bigger matches in Feb.

My only reasoning is because it's an 8pm kick off, and I really cannot be arsed with having to schlep home after 10pm on a winters night if I don't have to.

If we were playing 3pm I would probably apply

Fair enough. I would have defo applied if it would not rule me out of forthcoming fixtures, but for me why suffer, the points you highlighted, a 8pm kick off, winters night and add Newcastle’s low block when it stops you missing matches down the line.

Playing football made sense to me. Singing with Covid in a crowd of 2000 is just dumb. I know it's been sanctioned but the set-up I've seen on TV doesn't look particularly safe to me. If I was on my own or with young people only, I probably wouldn't care but I'm older and visiting my elderly parents who were in the shielded group so I am being careful for the moment.

I think it will improve rapidly in the Spring (providing immunity by vaccination lasts). When Covid crashes I'll go back.

At £35 for the game I'm sure they will be snapped up if they go on sale. I'm hoping to be in Tenerife for my annual jaunt. It's hit and miss at the moment, depending on me getting and passing a covid test. There is an 11pm to 6am curfew, masks have to be worn even outdoors unless sunbathing or swimming and not all bars are open, then there is the quarantine on return, but it will be a break.

If the match had been rearranged for the 27th I would have entered the ballot but I no longer drive, there's no public transport on Boxing Day and no guarantee that any of the local Blues will get a ticket so that I could try and cadge a lift.

Said it before and will say it again. I still can't figure why thousands of people can pack the shopping centres today without this level of scrutiny. You choose whether to download an app, leave details etc.

And I still can't see how other sports and indeed other football clubs in the Premier League have fewer requirements of their supporters than City seem to have. We're being massively over-policed and this whole approach just doesn't sound very enjoyable. Until football becomes something to look forward to again - rather than being treated with suspicion and form filling - then I'm happy to stay at home.

Singing make it different. You don't stand stationary in the High Strert for 2 hours singing unless you are part of a choir, and choristers are notorious for catching Covid

I dont honestly see the point in this.
We all know what's going to happen with this car crash government.
My prediction we will go back to tier 2 next week, have a couple of games then in January lockdown 3 will happen.

All the more reason for applying for Newcastle tickets

It may end up the only game fans can attend this season !!

Similar here. I only know of one mate who is contemplating entering the ballot out of all my large circle of regular home and away match goers. I think it might have been different if it was an earlier kick off time with beer on the menu.

Will the draw be televised? Maybe a duck raise would be the fairest way, each chipped so you know who is wining and how many in front of you at one stage, with each duck allocated 1 or 2 tickets.

Not sure what 'vast majority' will mean, from that term you would think 85% but expect 67% as it could mean anything.

Where have you heard there is no PT on Boxing Day? There usually is
