Return of Supporters

Doesn’t it say in email that if you are successful for the Newcastle game that you can’t apply again for another match ? Also if you don’t come under the Manchester boundary that you can’t apply ?

I reluctantly live in Trafford (would still prefer to be in Cheshire), and would love to be back at the Etihad. I put my name down for the ballot, but with London going into Tier-3, I don’t think fans will be allowed back anytime soon.

I'm hoping Manchester moves to Tier 2, but I'll try to get to Moss Lane Boxing Day to watch Altrincham.

Watching PL football with 2k is just soulless - should be 20-25% capacity with no away fans, that would cater for social distancing.

( I hope this doesn't offend anyone who has lost someone to Covid)

How many will be at Moss Lane ? Isn't that just as "soulless" and the football not as good either ?

Just asking, but good on you for supporting non league football.
Boxing Day is Stockport - so it's anyone's guess.
The point I was trying to make is that 2k in a 56k stadium just doesn't work for me (I've had my season ticket for 20 years now)

Moss Lane works better for that size of crowd IMHO - and it'll be a joy to stand up for 90 minutes without continuing complaints

oh and of course by not applying I'm helping out a Blue who wants to go ;)

Yes I understood your point, and 2k in a 50k+ stadium does nothing for me either.

At least you get to shout loud swear words and hear listen for yourself on the telly. It will be like a cold county one day game when not many turn up.

I was in the crowd of 8,015 at Maine Road 16/01/65 against Swindon who had a certain mIke Summerbee playing for them. We could wander about the Kippax freely and even sit down on the terrace if we wished. I dread to think what 2k will be like even though I have entered the ballot.

I must have been stood near you then!
I seem to remember that Buzzer got their winner that day. I was only 14.

I live in Trafford too, but am put off from using public transport for obvious reasons, so not entering the ballot. I do worry that the problem will still be there next season and large crowds and packed trams and buses will still need to be avoided. So reluctantly may let the season tickets go, after 65 years of attending games. Ah well, that's life!

I normal use the Metro. However if the game gets the go ahead, and I am fortunate enough to get a ticket, I will drive up to the stadium. Much safer than public transport and with only 2k supporters I will have no trouble parking.

I am optimistic we will be back to normal for next season. I respect those fans who are going into the ballot and I am sure they will get behind the team. I have probably missed perhaps 20 home matches (six at the Etihad) since 1970 (before Covid) but the prospect of sitting in a freezing empty stadium wearing a mask and being told what to do by stewards does not appeal to me. The social side of watching City has always been as important to me as the football. I'l return when I can take part fully.

saying it will take a year to vaccinate all and that’s if it all runs smoothly. Fingers crossed they have done enough by Aug for things to start up again
