Richard Dunne retires

My theory why dunny conceded so many OGs is because is work load alongside players who either were not up to the standard expected or not professional enough, to be constantly covering for others can sometimes cause problems for your own performance, I liked the guy if he would have been slotted into an old type arsenal back four then he would have got a lot more outside recognition !

Many of his own goals were last ditch efforts to cover another defender. Of course some were just bad (WBA at home for example).

Great player for us. I'll never forget that free kick he smashed in only for it to be disallowed, think it may have been against WBA.

Best of luck to him.
That was a disgraceful refereeing decision by poll, who was proved to be a liar stating he never blew the whistle when replayed he certainly did, when it was disallowed it I booted a stool right across a concert room in Stalybridge and nearly got barred lol

A Poll moment....what a free kick.

My fav Dunney moments are when he beat Henry for pace meaning Henry had to dive to save face running towards the south Stand and his winger play against Burnley away when the Goat scored 3.

A true Manchester City legend. Nearly 300 games for us and 4 times consecutive player of the year. We might be the all singing and dancing Manchester City now, but lets not forget the dark ages where Dunne and the Goat were the 2 shining lights. I hope the club does something to recognise the effort Dunne put in for us. He was not the most talented but he put his body on the line for us every single time he went on the pitch. A top bloke who did us proud and I hope he is remembered as one of us.

I still to this day think his performances that season he played CB with Richards were some of the best CB perfromances I've seen. City legend.

A vastly under-rated player outside City. Made his partners at CB look good.

The way he turned his career around when Keegan was on the verge of binning him is a great example to some young players who are in danger of going of the rails.

Nothing but good things to say about Richard Dunne and wish him the best of luck in the future.

One of my favorite players when he played for us.
always wore his heart on his sleve.
The Dunnie Monster .
