Richard Dunne retires

total respect to the big fella..............a colossus at the back and a man city legend....................i doth my cap to you richard.............

I've written this for Typical City on Dunne for today: http://www.typicalcity.org/2015/06/01/feature-dunne-and-dusted/

Great piece, Mooney.

As others have said, most of the own goals were due to the fact that Dunnie was the last line of defence and was desperately trying to keep the ball out of the net.

However, a poor player doesn't make 300 appearances and win PotY for four successive season for one club and Richard Dunne was far from a poor player.

If it's true that he is looking for another club, I wish him all the success in the world.

Phenomenal player, who gave it all for the club. Wish he got the testimonial.

Vastly underrated by anyone not a blue. In his prime was up there with the very best centre backs in the Premiership era.

How anyone can slag him is beyond me , all the best Richard and thanks 4 your efforts at God's own club

Cheers mate! I always defended the OG record because he'd end up getting the unfortunate last touch when trying to get it off the line or deflecting it trying to get in the way. Can't think of many that stack up to the 'bumbling' image many outsiders from the club had of him.
