Richard Dunne has been magnificent for City and will continue to be.

Extremely under rated and unappreciated this year. There were some extremely dodgy decisions against us. We were severely stretched at the back on many occasions and Dunne was there battling defiantly.

There are NO other players i would rather see than Dunne lifting our first trophy in my lifetime! I think he's a great player, and he seems like an exceptional guy!

what is he now - 28? By most peoples standards thats a footballers peak. You have to say there was an own goal or two that was avoidable last season (!) and a few pointless cards, but in reality they were mainly due to poor support. If you look at the red cards weren't they all given in areas were he normally wouldn't have had to cover??

Maybe so, but let's be perfectly honest, he WAS our best player for at least three of those four seasons

Dunne is a City legend and is one of the reasons we are still a PL side. In the years to come we should remember Dunne with fondness. However we are now targetting different things. The club is changing and targetting survival is no longer an option. In the next 3 years we need to challenging at the top end of the PL, qualifying for the CL and winning trophies. That's why we are looking at centre halfs of the calibre of Terry. I don't think we can achieve what we need to achieve with the likes of Dunne and Richards as our defensive pairing. Who are the clubs being linked with Dunne? Stoke and Sunderland? Tells it's own story.
