I wish him well but he was such a shit player, I can't see many copies sold tbh.
As Dragons Den would say, "I'm out".

There was, mainly of relief, and there was even a small round of encouraging applause as he walked up.mancityvstoke said:
4.28......Plenty of cheers for Edghill

But I can remember it vividly, funnily enough, and as everyone realised I was him walking up to take one, absolutely everyone in the city end looked a each other and went "oh fuck, edgehill!". You could hear it buzz around the city end. He was notorious at that point for having never scored a city goal.
When he banged it it there was a roar of relief and gratitude. That was the point we knew we were going to do it, too, pretty much.
Took some guts that pen did.
wearethesouthstand said:just a quick point. edgy was called up for a training session/ get together with the full england squad whilst he was in the u21s so he was on venables' radar at one point. similar thing happened to paul lake under bobby robson before italia 90. remember he did make his first team debut before neville did and edgy was part of the u21 team that won the toulon tournament in 1994
other than that and this is just a personal view. having curle next to him, mcmahon and white / sheron in front of him doing their jobs as normal, edgy looked a good player
having kit symons next to him or summerbee junior in front of him or some of the various other players from the frank clark era not doing their jobs and edgy having to cover for them and continually leave himself exposed out of position...probably made him look a lot worse than he was.
plus he was a confidence player

One thing for sure, he didn't deserve the abuse he received, neither did Paul Power, neither did Ian Bowyer, neither did Peter Swales.
