Yes, let's criticise the person who is exposing these two mysogynists for who they really are instead of the men themselves.

The poor guys, this is a smear campaign against two hard working, decent sexists!

It's not right!

For those banging on about 'Freedom of Speech', there is a proviso to such a luxury. It's called moral responsibility. These two showed none of it and it's clear the Sian Massey comments weren't an isolated incident.

Some people really are whiter than white on here, i've said it many a time, the majority of woman that i know do infact know feck all about football.

what happens if someone said "does Micheala Tabb know how many points a black ball is worth" get off your high horse. she got one decison right, which being in the correct posistion no excuse not too, but she got one horrendously wrong.
Oh i'm far from whiter than white my friend. Point is my viewpoints changed after i realised how out of date they were. Making a generalisation about people based on personal experience doesn't make it true, or acceptable in modern society.

"I'm justified in my beliefs because my view has been formed by the people i've met, which collaborate with what i've experienced, thus this is true of all women!"

Is that the point you're making? Because you think it is true ergo it must be worldwide? Because i don't know of one person who has that viewpoint. I don't chat with my mates about how inferior women are or make "jokes" like, "when i get home i expect my tea on the table! Eh, know what i mean Fred, see Fred knows what i mean!"

They weren't being critical of Massey based on her performance, they were being critical based on ONE fact. She's a woman. That's it. That's mysogynistic no matter how you try and slice it or excuse it.
"It was only a joke" Well why not voice them weekly on air? Everyone knows Uriah Rennie is a useless referee, but no-one is saying the reason he is useless is because he's black!

Just as with Sian Massey, Keys and Gray didn't judge Massey based on past performances, in their eyes she is useless as an assitant referee for the sole fact she's a woman. Is it banter, or mysogyny to judge a woman's ability based on her gender as those two did?

I've heard people use the counter argument about Loose Women being accepted and that its not fair! So male chauvinist sexism = good wholesome banter. Feminist sexism = unacceptible, sexist stereotyping.

oh lawro isn't actually an innocent chappy.

if some of the things i've been told bout him from very good sources are true, then god help the man.

Lol. At a risk of being absolutely hated on this forum. but I have to say I quite like Lawro. His puns are so terrible that they actually become funny, and where would we all be without his weekend predictions. ;)

He also committed a brilliant piece of stupidity that was actually quite endearing when Maniche asked him to comment on the England v. Kazakhstan game and he just went 'NICE!' a la' Borat. And then looked off camera whilst pulling an amazing self-satisified 'did you see that?' gurn to one of his mates

'it' being the video that was leaked that seen him off the burton one, someone had it in for him, shame for the girl but she's a munter anyway, just like gray acknowledged, shes had her 5 mins of fame. how the f.a put her in a premier league game then her next one was a league 2 baffles me it really does.

I don't imagine it takes a lot to baffle you.

"Shame for the girl but she's a munter anyway."

You sound like a really well-rounded, intelligent individual.

Anyway, be great to see Keys go; I dislike him much more than Gray and I really dislike Gray.

The good thing about the new video is that whilst he's trying to cosy up to the ex pros with his pathetic 'banter', they seem non-plussed by it and see it as (to borrow a fashionable phrase from this forum) cringeworthy.

fair use of alliteration young chap.

Funny how correct they were though, not having this "she made a good decison" shite, thats why they dont referee platt fields on a sat, but she made one horrendous decison.

The "decision" or her performance during the match (good or bad) is irrelevant in this.

If she had had a 100% accurate game, they'd still call her useless because she is a woman. If Massey became the greatest referee in the world statistcally by FIFA, she's still just a woman and is useless.

That is the reason for the furore. Not that they were critical of a woman, they were critical because she IS a woman, doing a job most men have filled. Plus the fact that people disagree entirely with their view stating she did have a good game, certaintly no worse than any other assistant referee. But that doesnt matter, 'she's a woman, so that automatically makes her useless'.

If she was a poor assistant referee the focus should be on the fact that she is crap. NOT that the reason she IS crap, is because she's a woman. I realise i have mentioned this point four times now but it seems to be the stickler as none of the Gray defenders have managed to pick up on it yet, instead drumming up wild defences for their behaviour, which as has been proven, (the methods and motives irrelevant at this point) was not a solitary affair.

What an absurd point to make! Name one good Pakistani official? Name one good Disabled official? Name one good communist official?! You probably can't because you've never seen any of them officiate a game so you can't really make a judgement.

If you assume there are no good officials in those groups because you think those groups are completely incapable of being a decent official then you are just as prejudice as Andy Gray!

Durkin was an awful ref, does that make all Gingers awful refs? If you saw a Ginger ref lining up for a game and the guy next to you said "This ref has got absolutely no business refereeing this game, he's doesn't know what he's doing, Durkin was a ginger remember?" You would thinkk the guy was off his head.

If a black guy lined up to ref the game and the guy next to you said "Oh this ref has got absolutely no idea what he's doing, remember Uriah Rennie? Black guys shouldn't be allowed to ref, what do they know about football?" I hope you would either put one on his jaw, or a least report him.

So if a woman lines up and without ever seeing her officiate before, the guy next to you assumes she is completely incompetant, why is that acceptable?
